This is the cord that can plug into a 220 outlet, correct? If so, is there any benefit to using a home charging station over plugging the cord into a 220 outlet, other than the ability to schedule charging on the station?

It can also plug in to a 120V outlet. It comes with 2 cords.

In my opinion, the currently-included charger is not up to the quality that a dedicated charger should have. I keep mine in the car and have only used it in situations where I'm on the road and a dedicated charger is not available (such as visiting a relative's house.)

Speed. A home charging station can, depending on the station, be capable of charging somewhat faster than the included charger.

I kinda feel its a cop out for any manufacturer to sell a EV without a means of charging it (minimum 120v) even though most people probably won't use it.

I fall into the camp of it still sitting in my trunk in original packaging since I bought a dedicated Level 2 charger for home, but I absolutely want to have it there should I be on the road or "something" happens and I just need to plug it in somewhere, even if it is at a slow 120v connection.

I've used mine exclusively for home charging - maybe 60 or 70 times in the past two years. I've had to unplug it twice to reset an amber light, but that's it. The handle and cable seem robust to me. I'm actually pretty impressed that Ford didn't cheap out on the mobile charger. There will probably be a market now for people to sell their unwanted mobile chargers for a couple hundred bucks.

My car came with one but I have never used it. If it were an option I too would have saved the $500 and not gotten one

Same here. I used the included wall bracket and there it has sat for 2 years. It also charges our Tesla (with NACS adapter).

I use my MME mobile exclusively to charge my MME, and my wife's PHEV, for the last 2-1/2 yrs. No problems. I prefer charging from outlet since 32amps is fast enough and I like having a 240v outlet in garage for tools, and possible emergency generator backfeed.

Yes but at $399 you can get a 48a Emporia EVSE. Better quality and faster. I think it's nice that it's not included
