it appears my updates are coming in at a reasonable pace. yesterday morning brought in 4.2.5 and followed quickly by 23-PU0415-BLM-VIS.

a current status lookup of VIN 3FMTK3SU8PMA28074 would be greatly appreciated again to see what is still to go.
You have an HVAC and OBCC this morning. If you got the HVAC by OTA (4.2.5) it can day a day to clear from your list.

Hi Mike,
two weeks ago I received a notification in FordPass for coming updates, but I had no OTA downloads. Could you check if anything is pending, please? WF0TK3SSXMMA37563
Thank you very much!

All you have on your available list right now is a HVAC update. I can't see your OTA status with FDRS.

@Mike G Would you be able to check out my Mach-E? It's been in the shop this week for replacement IPC and they've indicated it's been "programming" for over 15 hours now.

Curious if you can see what they've done in addition to what shows in FDRS available now. I hadn't checked for available updates in a while, so don't have much to compare to, but just curious what you can see.

So...yesterday.

The tech did a PMI to the IPC module initially, using the USB thumb drive method.

That failed and said "Update installation via USB failed. FAIL - F120: Current = LJ8T-14C026-BR >>> SHOULD = LU5T-10F906-BA>>> Original = LJ8T-14C026-BR".

So the next dialog asked the tech if they wanted to try the CAN bus method and they said yes. Then when the tech was advised that this could take 6 or more hours the tech cancelled that operation and went back to the menu.

But wait, it gets better. So after about three hours of reading procedures and consulting other references the tech comes back and tries the PMI again using the USB method. Now there's a note that says:
File Download Tips The entire file download from USB memory device to vehicle will take at least 12 minutes. Sometimes the vehicle screen doesn’t display any messages. Please be patient and wait until vehicle screen displays completion message.

Okay so the update USB drive is inserted into the car at roughly ten minutes after 11 (Central time) and the tech then checks to see how things are going around 2 PM. And when the dialog asks if the process was successful (as in did the car say the update was successful), they indicate that it wasn't. That was the last entry of the day.

Funny thing though. Remember the failure that said what software version was expected (above)?

Well that is now what your car's software revision is in FDRS. The F120 DID is actually showing as the "LU5T-10F906-BA" it's supposed to be and the F188 DID is the correct and current "LU5T-10F906-AA" revision as well.

I don't think the tech knows this. I could be wrong, but the last thing the tech did yesterday when asked if the procedure was successful...was to say "No" to the dialog box question. They may actually think the update didn't work when it looks to me like it did.

Well - that's quite interesting, and thank you VERY much for the detailed explanation. Part of me wants to talk to them about this, but I have a feeling they wouldn't take too kindly to me prying into what they're doing this much. (They haven't been super receptive of any "I know more than you think..." in the past haha)

They did a master reset yesterday, which peeved me since that shouldn't have been necessary at all per others who've had their IPC's replaced. I didn't go in too hard on the service advisor when he called to give an update yesterday evening, waiting to see how much hassle it'll be after the master reset.

Well I'm interested to know what their next plan is. They may think they still have work to do to fix a problem that may not be a problem anymore.

I'm going to shoot the advisor a message and politely request he let the tech know the update may have actually worked. We'll see how they respond.

Oh, and most techs have zero idea that anybody can actually see what they've done. Really. The ones I've talked to are always very surprised to find that everything they do is logged for others to see.
