I'm nervous that they are messing around with the parking brake again. My '21 Job 1 had the parking brake engage while I was driving and would not release for hours. This happened several times in Oct & Nov 2021 until the parking pawl jammed the rear motor, destroying it (while it was at the dealership) - they had to tow it into a bay. Hopefully they haven't changed the logic "don't apply brake when car is in motion". But as a long-time software engineer, I have seen "the new guy" change critical bug fixes that they didn't understand and regress behavior.
The software for auto parking brake has been around for AGES, just not OTA.

I had mine updated a while back because I got the parking brake error light and had to go in for the recall where they replace the wiring. When it came back it had the new software that puts on the auto parking brake.
0 issues since then. Never an unintentional engagement.

Plus the car doesn't roll back and rock around like crazy when I put it in park now ?

This can also show up when its downloading a new update, although it shouldnt stay around for too long so most likely try the 12v power.

I have a '22 GT non-EA car with the 6.4 OTA, and I do not have the Auto Hold & Apply park brake feature that Mach-Lee describes as being introduced with the 6.6 OTA. My car acts as it always has - the parking brake does not automatically engage when I shift into park, and it automatically disengages only when I depress the accelerator pedal, not when I shift into drive or reverse. Others have said they have had this new auto park brake feature for awhile even they do not yet have 6.6. So what other previous update would have provided this feature?

My car's parking brake behaves exactly the same as yours. I don't recall which update changed the parking brake behavior for some cars, but based on commentary in this forum, I think it was a fairly small subset of MMEs... We've heard about the craziness Ford is facing with multiple module manufacturers and differing versions of modules across the product line - my guess is that the parking brake behavior difference is a manifestation of those issues...

Meanwhile I anxiously await the arrival of 6.6.0 as the auto-parking brake application would be very useful here in hilly San Francisco.

So why are some of us still stuck at 5.1.1 into 6.1 when others are getting these 6.x updates?

That was a hardware issue I encountered in February 2021.

Funny, I used to be more near the front of the wave, but now I seem to lag. Haven't gotten it yet.

I drive about 100 miles a day 4 days a week, and I left it on a 12v charger over night, still no change. I now turned off the auto off feature and going to leave the car on for 5 hours. My 12v charger only charges the 12v to 90%. Leaving the car on, I can see my 12v already up to 93%

Surprisingly this round I have not seen mine begin the download. Though my driving habits have been less than normal so that’s likely it. We will see when it pushes!
