Purchased the car last month, haven't gotten any OTA updates yet. Could i get a check of my build date, any ota software updates done so far, and the 12v battery SoC? Thanks.
3FMTK3S54PMA99894
The last time your car reported in the SOC on the 12V battery was 88%.

Build date was 18 Oct 23 according to FDRS and 19 Oct 23 according to PTS (this happens all the time). Release date was the 19th.

This is the list of available software for your VIN in FDRS:

You have no OTA history, and no warranty repair history, but somebody (mechanic?) did lookup how to remove a wheel/tire in the workshop manual on the 9th of December under this VIN.

Mike, would you check my VIN?
Your car is on Sync 23352 which is the latest version and OTA history shows you recently got the BC 1.3 OTA. Not much pending for you. Config looks good for the everything to be working. You having any issues?

Hi Mike,
Had this show up the other day and drove home without power steering. Car’s been working fine ever since. I’ll get it checked out at the dealer before the warranty runs out. Anything show up that you can see?

Thanks,

Looks like 30 November is your deadline.

Here's what showed up on the 22nd:

Here's the pinpoint it takes you to:

And here's the list of available software in FDRS showing a PSCM (and associated IPMA) that they would likely update to address the issue.

Also, your 12V battery is showing a 77% SOC ...might want to have them look at that before the end of November as well.

21/1/2021 build date. Last OTA was an ACM update about 9 months ago and Sync 23031 is now two (for some people three) versions behind the latest. Last power-up update was 4.2.4 about 11 months ago. PTS is showing a long list of pending updates, but I would need FDRS to see if you are showing any APIM, GWM or TCU updates which is what you would need to progress to the series of updates. Hard to tell if you have "update issues" or just crappy luck getting updates, but I was a betting man, I would bet on the latter.

The last power-up you got was 6.4.0, so you most likely need to get a few other 6.x.x updates before that will pop up. That is a very new update that not many have reported getting and probably won't show in FDRS for you even if you had it. I don't think it has been released for anything other than 2023 Mach E's yet, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

No OTA in queue. This is all you show pending in PTS:

still no updates here. Quite frustrating and the top drainer of owning this vehicle.

Mike G and Rugedraw and anyone else smart on this stuff... I saw this now twice (see the attached pic) while trying to update my BMS during the past two FDRS updates. Obviously, this stops me from updating the BCM with FDRS for this particular update file.

What does this "protected" update do? Also, is it a necessary update? My dealership which is usually pretty good about helping, also seems clueless (or they just won't tell me...).

This is for you Lightning, correct? Yeah, you can't update the BCM. Dealer has to do that one. I get this on the Lightnings that I have updated recently and there is talk about it on the Lightning forum.

Hello, could I have my VIN checked to see if there are any stuck updates because I'm still waiting on BC 1.3/1.4.

Thank you!

@21st Century Pony

This has been a sore point on the Lightning FDRS DIY thread for a while now. Apparently, after the BCM update was on the street for about a week (I updated on May 1st) it got coded as a security update that required a tech with PATS permissions to update. Meaning, a dealer tech (or locksmith?).

You do want this one though...it's what enables Walk Away Locking. Then after you get the APIM update (or by using FORSCAN) you'll see the toggles in the Sync (Locks) to turn it off and on. When the BCM is updated, WAL is enabled by default. Some people wanted the ability to turn it back off.

There are no OTAs in the queue for your VIN at present.

Here's a screengrab of the Vehicle Health from PTS showing a recurring IPMA DTC and I've attached the relevant TSB for that concern below for your reference.
