Took delivery of my Job 1 in April 2021. I too have had the full run of recalls (and thankfully no issues with the HVJB prior to the fix). I haven't continued with any subscriptions - don't like hands-free. I've loved my MME owner experience and will continue to enjoy my ride!
Random thoughts:
- I'll never go back to an ICE.
- Wish I had a little more range - my daughter (and new grandbaby!) live in Ohio and the 7-hour trip is just too much - we take my wife's car.
- I've had great service from my 2 local Ford dealers. They've taken good care of me and my MME. Currently go thru Masano Ford - they are really good.
- That being said - not sure I'll ever do a "first year" again. Recalls were a hassle (despite the great dealer experience) and the manufacturer just figures new stuff out after a few thousand vehicles hit the road.
- I'm glad we've joined the Supercharger network. Haven't used it yet (charge at home) but there are so many more chargers in my area. Peace of mind.
- Speaking of which, I really appreciated the free adaptor. And am glad for Car Play.
- Most importantly - this Forum and all of you have been so helpful. Your shared experiences and knowledge have helped me out so many times. So thank you.
## - Wish I had a little more range - my daughter (and new grandbaby!) live in Ohio and the 7-hour trip is just too much - we take my wife's car. -----I'm trying to understand how the 7 hour trip along I-76(?) into Ohio is too much for driving an EV but not an ICE? Especially since you have the Tesla adaptor that opens up a bundle of charging locations.

Job 1 ordered in June 20, received April 21. $48,000

Fixed under warrantly
- Bad right wheel hub

Fixed under extended warranty
- Connection for front camera

Recalls not done - holding off on windshield until it chips

OEM tires wore out at 28K, received 50% off new Michelins.

Very happy with car overall but would love BC 1.3!

This is a thread for the founding Mach E owners who took a chance and bought a 2021. I’m not including those who recently snagged a 21 on the used market.

I’m just curious… how many of us are left on this forum? Check in, please!

I have been an almost daily visitor to this board since shortly before I bought my First Edition. But in the last few months, my interest has waned. I just don’t get much useful information here anymore. Most of the posts seem to be noobs (no offense - I was once a noob, too) that I find repetitive and tedious.

I’ve lost interest in discussion about software updates which have been shelved indefinitely for my vehicle.

This is nothing against buyers of more recent models, btw. Hope you all enjoy your newer purchases. It’s just that for me, even though I plan to keep my car for several more years, my participation on this board is nearing the end of its useful life.
3 years, 24K miles and loving it. No regrets.

Still loving my '21 Job 2 Premium AWD EX. Only 20K miles, so it's like new. I'll gladly accept improvements through OTA updates, but I'm not expecting much more unless it's safety related.

After three problem-free years I am no longer opening every thread here to learn what's new and upcoming. BC 1.0 still works pretty f'in great, IMO. I hope they get around to updating the '21s, but my subscription runs out Feb '25. I hope they keep a (reasonable) monthy option for the several times a year I expect to use it.

I don't fret what newer model years are getting for updates or new features any more than I did from my previous ICE vehicles. That's life. If anything, I think the '21's are more feature-laden than subsequent years (ie: auto-open tailgate, wiper defroster, etc.).

Purchased “El Gran Señor” on 12/21. Except for the preventive HVJB replacement, and the one pedal drive failure the car has been flawless. Surely a keeper for me.
Look every day at the forum emails for things that can be of use or to contribute.
Hope that Ford will continue making further generations of the Mach-e

My First Edition was built in November 2020, and I received it in early 2021. I still have a love/hate relationship with it. My analogy remains apt - she’s like a hot girl that cheats on you. You love (but don’t completely trust) her.

I still love my 21 FE, and I understand about the forums. I have almost 30K miles on mine, but since I got it in March 2021, it has been in the shop a little more than 8 months total time. 4 months for an accident and 4 months to fix various other issues. Still, love the car, though.

Placed a reservation in 2019 and took delivery of a premium ex4 in March 2021. Been my daily driver since, 42k miles on it. Lived thru PAAK problems and lack of HFBC for a long time. But been reliable once those issues were resolved. Holding out hope on BC 1.x, but have to gotten a PU in several months. Wondering if 2021 upgrades are being phased out at this point...

Main reason I didn’t change mine is lack of features mine has that I never thought I needed and can now not do without.

My Infinite Blue 2021 reminded me to replace the Slime canister this morning... Awesome! Just placed my order (https://a.co/d/fpXV9ks).
Does that fit in the tire inflator?
OK so the answer is.... No. Slime's 10179 product is identical in all ways that matter except for height. It's too tall for our Ford tire inflator kit. :(

Otherwise, they are the same! So when it comes time to replace mine, I will pour out the liquid from the old one, pour in the newer liquid, and swap out the valve-hose-cap assemblies. I see from the sticker on my Ford one that I've got another year left, so I reset the in car reminder for one more year.

I found an excellent video, included below, that covers most of the steps to replace the goo by refilling the old canister from a refill bottle, reusing his existing cap assembly. I guess that would work, too, as long as your existing hose is clean (i.e. it hasn't been used to perform a temporary tire patch). The video author seems meticulous with details and cleanliness, so I'm guessing he knew how to clean out the old hose? I wouldn't bother though... It will be easier to swap it over from a new Slime 10179 bottle.

3 years and 1 month. Only car so have driven it across country 2x. Been a great car. I don't want to sell it as I feel like it is a fun car to drive, reliable, and cheap to operate.

I ordered my First Edition Mustang Mach-E on the first day the reservation system opened. I picked it up in February 2021, and I'll soon be heading into my fourth year with it. While I only have 12,000 miles on the car (since I don't drive daily), my main gripe has been the number of recalls and the lack of a BC updates.

When I first got the vehicle, I experienced a lot of charging issues, but it turned out to be a software bug that I worked through directly with Ford's engineering team, alongside the dealer. However, I’ve had to take the Mach-E into the dealer multiple times for customer satisfaction updates, and the fact that it often takes them two days to perform those updates is definitely a downside.

As an early adopter, I sometimes feel left behind by Ford, and I’m not sure I’d buy another first-generation vehicle again because of it.

That said, in terms of driving experience and handling, Ford got it right. It’s always a joy to drive and has never let me down in that regard.

The community here is awesome and enjoy being part of the EV enthusiasts.

Got mine in April 21. Loved it initially. Barely tolerate it now.

When it comes time to replace, I will definitely get another EV but it will not be another ford. Aside from the various recalls, it’s just too finicky. CarPlay doesn’t always connect, PAAK doesn’t always work, mirrors don’t always close on locking, motion sensor override still doesn’t allow me to leave kids in the car to go grab a coffee, etc. It’s weird to spend so much money on something, only to find that features you paid for will regularly fail you.

My other car is a 2024 wrangler 4xe. Jeeps are not exactly known for their reliability. But it’s not had any comparable problems or any problems at all, really. It’s just worked as intended every day for the last year. In fairness, it doesn’t have as many little tech features. But the ones it does have consistently work (like connecting CarPlay, without fail). I’d much rather have less, but know it will always work, than more that only sometimes works.

Received my Premium AWD ER in August 21 before all the crazy ADM’s were demanded by dealers. Bought (ordered) at x-plan pricing as a stockholder. Dealer knew nothing about EV’s or the special pricing program. It was a learning experience for all.

Just passed 18,000 miles and refinanced my Options balloon. Car still looks and drives like brand new. Love it.

How much is the OEM replacement? That seems like a lot of work.
