Forget about the bugs, what "feature" annoys you most?

Sure, there are random bugs that bug me, but there are a few things that are "working as designed" that occasionally annoy me too. Not so much annoying me as my neighbors, but the honk when you step out of the running car to get the mail or run back into the house is definitely on the list (and I know that can be turned off with FORSCAN, but I don't have the setup for it).

I don't use the feature, but I expect for some it's the random speed changes with speed limit recognition enabled. It could be great, but it's such a poorly implemented feature and the safety concerns are far bigger than the helpfulness.

It's minor, but the one that truly annoys me is the notification that my USB device will charge only. No shit Ford, I plugged in my headphones, I don't expect them to do anything but charge. And it never fails to pop up over CarPlay right when I am trying to enter a destination into Maps.

The fact that I cant use the keyboard or most of sync while driving. Sure, its a safety thing, but Tesla has it. How did they get around it and Ford cant or wont? Im not using the crappy voice system and im not pulling over, ill just pull out my phone and use that instead.

I like how half the on screen menus are too dangerous while driving but the other half are cool.

The requirement to tap on "VEHICLE" to get to a screen where the trunk and frunk buttons are located.

Why are they not always on the screen located in the band at the top?!?!?!

The idea that you have to switch out of car play, android auto, or any other app just to open the trunk or frunk......poor design, that can be easily fixed.

That I have a useless car icon in the middle of the IPC instead of speedometer and the cool graphics it used to have. This is single biggest disappointment in the car for me. What's infuriating is that on my wife's 24 it works like I want it to. I know I could go into Forscan and override the forward collision warning, but I shouldn't have to do that.

The lack of an auto dipping wing mirror. Yes, I know there are cameras but I don’t reverse looking at a screen. Additionally in the UK they are always covered in filth.

All these are software design issues that can be modified and deployed to our cars, Ford willing.

But there are a few bad decisions that can't be OTAed - no tow points in the rear, no way to open any door if the 12V battery fails but is still alive, and no easy access to this battery to jump it or reboot the whole system.

I know that people add the battery access points and tie the string to the door handle to overcome the design shortcomings, but it is not a good excuse to have them in the first place.

I also dislike the walk away honk that can't be disabled in the settings. I have Forscan and plan on disabling it, I just haven't done it yet.

I can mess with the radio all I want when driving, but I can't search or navigate the music on my USB drive?

No way to turn off the start up and exit sounds. Can't my car just be quiet when I turn it on or off?

The ridiculously loud backup beeper. It has been cold so I haven't tried any of the work arounds to tone it down.

The following aren't bugs, and are probably more a lack of features than features. But they still frustrate me.

The lack of an energy use history and graph of usage. What is included on "This Trip" and the trip meter is pretty spartan compared to every other EV I've owned. Even the Bolt's tracking rate of kW-hr every 5 mi was better than what we have. Tesla's usage graphing is nice as you could visually see how you were under or over your calculated consumption during a trip and make adjustments to your driving.

No easy way way to start charging now to XX%, you have to edit your Home settings or use the app and monitor and stop charging. Correct me if I'm wrong and there's a way to make the car start charging immediately to a certain percentage and stop. Other EVs I've owned easily let you do this.

The non-GT models don't have a power/regen meter. I plan on enabling this too with Forscan, but it is about worthless compared to other EVs. The Bolt's meter gives energy being used and put back, as does Tesla.

There's lots of things I do really like, much much more than I dislike. So don't take this as a blanket hate fest on the car.

(Edit to correct something I wasn't aware of.)

Double click the lane keep assist to deactivate as It’s a worthless feature unless you are on the motorway. One this is switched off you get your nice central speedometer and graphics back.

If you go to the Energy tab in FordPass when are plugged in there is a start button and a slider. You can use the slider to set target charge level for that charge session. You may or may not have to press the start button after changing the slider.

Are you not able to turn off the Distance Indication setting in the Driver Assistance Menu? I recently discovered I could get the full screen graphics in my 2024 by disabling lane keep and the distance indication. Glorious full screen animations on the driver display. Once I turn on cruise control though, the car graphic comes back on.

At one time I believed that the government was very hands on with approving/not allowing things like this, but the more I see of what Tesla and for that matter other manufacturers get away with I think it is more of "catch me if you can", especially with Tesla. One reason I don't like Telsa is because I think they do safety as an "after thought" and then protect themselves with the notices about it being the driver's responsibility.

For the thread, I guess that the first one mention, about the beeping when I just have to get out of the car and do something for a second, would be it.

And maybe the fact that they think a long bar for the state of charge with no percentage number is what people would really like. At least there should be the percentage in number form, but really a bar 3/4 of the display???

I have actually switched to having lane keeping on all the time because I like what gets displayed when it is one better. And once I got used to it, I sort even like it to be on.
