What is the difference in BlueCruise behavior based on the mode? I use Unbridle(d) and BC accelerates extremely slowly after a full stop, I always need to help it with the pedal. I don't think it will be even slower with other modes...
That's not where you see the difference in the modes.

It's the mid-range acceleration. For example, if you're going down the expressway at 75 MPH and get stuck behind a slower vehicle, ACC slows you down to say 60-65 MPH. Then you change lanes where it's now clear in front of you. You'll find the vehicle accelerates more quickly in Unbridled vs. Whisper when it is trying to get back up to your set speed. Unbridled accelerates hard to get back up to the set speed quickly. Whisper does it more gently and slowly.

Slowing down with ACC is also impacted by how many distance bars you have set. 1 bar is aggressive/late adjustments to slowing traffic. Adding more distance bars will make the deceleration more smooth.

I'm curious about what configuration folks are using for their day-to-day driving.

Personally, I've been rocking 2PD Unbridled, but I'm considering going back to 1PD.
Unbridl on mine is called untamed...

It is totally dependent on the application:
Twisty road with no advance traffic = 1PD Unbridle
Twisty Road with a car in front going reasonable fast = 2PD Unbridle + "L"
Twisty Road with a car in front going slow = 1PD Engage or 2PD Engage + "L"
Going to the store = 2PD Engage
Highway long trip = 2PD Whisper + Blue Cruise

Auto-hold always. There are probably more, but circumstances drive the result.
I agree with your philosophy, but would suggest a few changes to simplify implementation:

Twisty road with no advance traffic = 1PD Unbridle
Twisty Road with a car in front going reasonable fast = 1PD Unbridle
Twisty Road with a car in front going slow = 1PD Unbridle + PedalontheRight Glare (tm) on
Going to the store = 1PD Unbridle
Highway long trip = 1PD Unbridle

If anyone is going for a psychology degree they can now perform a correlation study between this poll and one for favorite ice cream. My hypothesis is 2PD engage correlates with vanilla ( my favorite!)

I'd say 1PD Unbridle is my go to, but I've found that if I'm driving, (clears throat), with enthusiasm, 2PD Unbridle seems to respond better, especially when cornering.

With the rain/ season in the Bay Area we had I used 1PD Whisper a lot. That made appreciate this drive mode. It's definitely the closest to an ICE to me.

I voted 1PD Engage has loose feel (longer to stop).

Car is very fun to drive. Ride the bounce!

My advice to anyone who doesn't like vanilla ice cream- stop eating crappy vanilla ice cream.

A Newbie...Just took delivery of a Select, RWD last Friday. Love it, plenty of torque. Mostly in Engage with the occasional spin in Unbridled, 1PD.

For about a year I stuck with 2PD Engage. But lately I've been trying out 1PD again and for a while was really liking 1PD Whisper. But with the "Drive Mode Not Available" glitch throwing me into Engage and therefore speeding me up because of the different pedal mapping, Ive been playing around more with 1PD Engage and 1PD Unbridle. Call me corny but I've been liking the fake engine sounds being louder with 1PD Unbridle lately.

All that said, when I have to do tight maneuvering like getting out of a tight parallel parked spot, I still go back to 2PD Engage because I feel like I have the best fine control that way.

1PD Whisper on the gtpe.
I wonder if GT/PE owners drive in Whisper more often than non-GTs.

I use 1PD Whisper in my GT since it smooths out the acceleration around town but I still get 100% power when I want. The times I've driven the 4X, it was Unbridled because it otherwise felt too pokey off the line.

1PD Whisper for the most part. I was using 2PD for a while because I enjoyed the coasting and not worrying about my brake lights (mainly on highway). But the mechanical brakes are ridiculously harsh when they engage at slow speed, and 1PD is a much smoother braking experience. Though I still don't like wondering if I just brake-checked someone by accident by lightening up too much on the accelerator.

That philosophy will massively under-utilize the capabilities of the vehicle and doesn't allow me to fiddle around with all the widgets while I'm driving. ?
