So as of June 15, 2024 if you purchased a new Chamberlain garage door opener, it no longer supports Home Bridge. Ok, but the openers before that date still do otherwise mine would not be working. I have several friends with Chamberlain openers and their CarPlay works the same as mine.
You can still add a MyQ Home Bridge to a compatible opener to get HomeKit integration. As mentioned, the Bridge is no longer in production, but they pop up on eBay regularly, albeit at a premium over the original price. To set it up, it's probably best to turn to Reddit for help:

Yeah I was going to mention if you’re one without the older myQ home bridge which now sells on eBay at scalper edition pricing you could opt for the Meross opener which a lot of folks praise as a great HomeKit compatible opener.

I picked up one of these on eBay last year and installed it on my Chamberlain opener. Works great and integrates with CarPlay perfectly.

Yes, Chamberlain myQ.
I have that app on my phone but in the car just use the buttons on the sun visor. Does the app in CarPlay have any advantages over those visor buttons or is this just personal preference for where to press—tapping screen vs pressing visor button?

You can open or close the door further away than the sun visor which is really the only thing. Some have issues with the HomeLink buttons where they have to get very close to the door before it opens. Not only that but you can use Siri to open or close also

Thanks @JoeyD. Sounds like Siri is the main advantage. My door opens up when I am several houses away so I’m ready to pull in once I get into the driveway. Only issue is that if it’s sunny out and I have brought the visor down, I need to flip it back up to access the button. Unrelated visor comment: I’m not particularly tall but find that the the shape of the roof makes it hard to push the visor further more forward when it’s down so my upper visibility isn’t great (my seat tends to be elevated which contributes). Not a big deal but a minor annoyance.

You are lucky to be able to open the door that far away, I have to be pulling in my driveway before it will open no matter what position the sun visor is in.

Unrelated Carplay comment, but it's not worth creating a new thread or attempting to find where it was mentioned before. For the last few days, in CarPlay, when the suggested route is displayed but not selected, the blue car icon finally does not bounce between the current location and the starting point! I gave up on wireless CarPlay at about the same time, so I am unsure if this related to that or not.
I’m not sure if that’s fixed or not, the way I worked around that issue was to cancel the prediction and tap the destination again. That way I get more route options to check traffic on and the jumping chevron doesn’t happen.

If you’re at all technical, I recommend getting a ratgdo. It works with the Chamberlain/Liftmaster doors really well, and avoids all the screwing around MyQ has done with their API.
For what it’s worth, I have a Meross just sitting around since I switched to ratgdo. If anyone on the forum is interested, shoot me a DM and we can work a deal.

8-years ago I installed an 828LM Internet gateway that plugs into my router, and replaced the existing wired control panels with 888LM wired control panels that talk to the gateway (not via WiFi though). The MyQ app gives me control of the openers, but unfortunately, the 828LM doesn’t have HomeKit support, so no CarPlay integration for me. If I want to open/close the doors, I have to use the visor buttons, or whip out the phone.i don’t use Siri, so no Siri Shortcuts for me. I just use the visor buttons. Previous car didn’t have integrated Homelnk buttons, so. I just got a cheap remote and clipped it to the visor.

One interesting aspect of the new wall controls is that they have learn buttons on them, so you don’t have to go up on a ladder to add a new remote/car. Unfortunately, it also means the wall control is the receiver, so if it is set far back enough in the garage, there can be reception problems.

I wouldn't say perfectly.

Last I tried you could not choose which door showed up in CarPlay. That was something I could do with HomeBridge and the MyQ plugin.

I have two doors and I am not sure what logic the MyQ home bridge uses to decide which door to present but it is not the door I use.

Which ever door was last used with your phone, not the homelink buttons, that’s the one that is displayed in CarPlay.

In my case it always showed the right door. I park on the left. There was nothing I could do that made the left door appear on CarPlay. With the MyQ plugin and HomeBridge it was easy to set the config how I wanted but then MyQ blocked the API. So I gave up and use Homelink like a caveman.
