I wouldn't say perfectly.

Last I tried you could not choose which door showed up in CarPlay. That was something I could do with HomeBridge and the MyQ plugin.

I have two doors and I am not sure what logic the MyQ home bridge uses to decide which door to present but it is not the door I use.

I only have one door so works ok for me. ?

In my case it always showed the right door. I park on the left. There was nothing I could do that made the left door appear on CarPlay. With the MyQ plugin and HomeBridge it was easy to set the config how I wanted but then MyQ blocked the API. So I gave up and use Homelink like a caveman.

I never tried siri, I might take the time to set it up again.

The other issue I had when I had the myq bridge working was that one of the doors would drop out of the config and the only way to recover was to reset everything to scratch and start over setting up both doors again. I couldn't figure out how to add a door in the myq app once the bridge was added. The third or fourth time I had to set everything up again I just didn't add the bridge back. Since then both doors have remained in the app.

you can but you need to buy something like Ratgdo and hook it up to a home assistant server. It can seem daunting but in reality is fairly easily.

But this also sort of depends on your garage door opener/mechanism too. Myq chamberlain for sure work (that’s what I use)

and for all the people with multiple doors I think this can handle multiple doors. (I would imagine you need two ratgdo but not sure. The web says it works with multiple doors but I only have one door so can’t comment on it)

I switched all my myQ connection stuff over to Tailwind (gotailwind.com). It connected easily to HomeKit and shows up in CarPlay. I also added a little puck in my car that when my car and phone both approach the house it just auto-opens the garage door I park in (completely optional though). There is an add-on kit to add the second garage door to one communication device. Overall it works very well and I am happy with it. I have also heard good things about the ratgdo that someone mentioned earlier in the thread. Chamberlain is being pretty anti-consumer with a lot of their changes recently, so I wanted to just stop using their controllers. My garage door opener is still Chamberlain so dont think you need to switch actual garage door hardware.

I have that app on my phone but in the car just use the buttons on the sun visor. Does the app in CarPlay have any advantages over those visor buttons or is this just personal preference for where to press—tapping screen vs pressing visor button?

One advantage is that the button in CarPlay shows the current state of the garage door, so you can open it before you can see it without risking closing it instead if another family member opened it for some reason.

As everyone else has said, MyQ took away the HomeKit integration. I have a MyQ opener as well, but this past weekend I installed a Ratgdo on my garage door opener and integrated with Home Assistant. Now when I enter a geofence that I’ve created in Home Assistant, my garage door opens without me having to touch anything in my car.

And I have several geofence locations setup in home assistant bc there are several different ways I can get to my home. I also have an automation created in home assistant that will close the garage door automatically when the phone exits my home geofence after X number of mins if I forget to close the door.

2 things from me. I must be the only person on here to have only 5 icons on my CP screen and I really should look into geofencing my garage door, it'd never come to mind. I've been using HA for pretty much data tracking (rather than Datadog, but DataDog is another idea for what I'm doing) I have 1 automation in HA, to turn off my kids BT speaker at 10:45 pm or she'll stream Billy Eilsh for days and not even be around lol.

I've only been bitching to them about this for 4 years... Those icons looked so stupidly/obnoxiously large, like the interface was designed for those who are so visually impaired, they probably shouldn't even have a license.

It also appears there is an Apple maps update coming that will allow users to enable NACS (ie. Telsa Superchargers) in addition to CCS.
