Ok since @NJ_MachE is all knowing, I gotta question. So how are some of MME's downloading at home. Do they have some special unit? Saw a pic of something that looks like a battery charger hooked up to battery
Hah, I'll try. The TLDR is that there are really three ways the Mach-E receives updates
1) The Mach-E was originally programmed with the fix. (This is why cars built late May and onwards don't have the recall. It's also why we had BlueCruise to start while many folks with a MY21 are still waiting for it)
2) You use a system called FDRS to apply the update. This is the system dealers use to apply updates. But fancy Mach-E owners themselves can also do this. It involves an expensive software license, a Windows laptop, and access to your 12v battery. More info on this here: https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...ach-e-with-fdrs-alternative-to-forscan.10217/
3) You get the update OTA (over the air). For the recall, that's what I'll be waiting on, and apparently that's still a few weeks away from starting.

My dealer (local, not where I bought it) had no clue about the recall and said they could schedule me for… wait for it…

I've been checking OTA religiously

LOL. I wonder who all those customers who've booked up all the November service appointments are.

We still have @Shenred --- whose car while present, is in recall jail.
Ah yes, I am perhaps wrongly assuming @Shenred will pick it up sooner than @P65 given @Shenred's report from a few days ago.
It's def down to the wire as both racers are about to a accept delivery. Who will it be??? I've heard some users are already getting the download, so I bet @Shenred might, just might be at the dealer ?
It is official: There is an ice white 4X in the garage and connected to the Chargepoint tonight. (And, yes, I was totally test driving and doing paperwork when @FrostyICE posted!)

FYI for those who haven't come across this thread yet-- particularly GT/GTPE owners https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...-recall-first-junction-box-failure-😭😭😭😭.19209

As many suspected, the recall software 'fix' is clearly a stopgap measure that doesn't actually resolve the underlying issue with the high voltage junction box (HVJB). Either Ford was trying to sweep this under the rug (stupid idea given the existence of this forum) or they knew they would also have to replace the HVJB on at least some Mach-E's but just didn't want to fess up to it yet while the parts are in short supply. Given the failure rate so far, it's only a matter of time before somebody in our build week gets this issue too... As a RWD Select owner, I continue to not worry too much about it personally, but I would like to learn more about the failure breakdown by trim in order to be sure. All indications so far are that GT's are vastly overrepresented with this failure. Recall that the GT did not actually hit the road until late August/September and this issue did not start becoming widespread until the winter. And now it's impacted close to 1% of US Mach E's, most of which have extremely low mileages.

So got my MME just before.

Now need to get used to it and as it is my first automatic car, will need to get rid of trying to work with left foot or trying to grap the shifter stick with right hand.

Will need to add some pic, but as I needed to drive home through a road which was dusty, the tires got dirty too.

So race closed now for me.

Wish all to get their updates quickly...

After reading some of the other posts it does indeed seem that the "software fix" is simply an anti-brick that will allow you to drive your MME safely to the shop. Reduces power to 33% and issues a warning to have vehicle serviced. This is NOT a fix, simply a way to continue driving the vehicle until it can be actually be fixed. By using words like "some" it also keeps their original statement about the recall 100% accurate by delivering on what they promised. It also leads me to believe that the updated software will do nothing to diminish power/DCFC rates OR stop the contactors from overheating in the first place. It will literally just keep doing everything as normal UNTIL they overheat and trigger the warning AND THEN will diminish power so you can "safely" drive it to the shop and have the hardware fixed, which is the root of the problem in the first place. Well done, Ford, well done!

Congratulations to our build week. We are done!!!!! Now let's ? that we don't get bricked or have a "do not pass go do not collect $200" msg. 2 things I have learned by reading through all the snafu with this recall and now patch is, always park with nose out, just in case. Once u get the patch and u do get the message of drive to ur nearest dealer Pronto is never turn engine off. Once u get to the dealer let everyone know NOT to turn it off. Just my .02

I switched from a manual to the MME; I am trying to excel at 1PD to replace the focus I used to place on clutch/shift/accel coordination. After 3 weeks I am getting pretty good at releasing the accel pedal at the right moment to regen brake to a stop at the right spot! (aiming for 100% on brake coach in Engage/1PD) I do still punch the floorboard with my left foot before hitting the start button sometimes....

I have a bit of sad news, Sally was rear-ended on Saturday ? It was low speed and thankfully, it appears to be cosmetic with some good scratches and one diver from a front license plate. Sally is drivable and in good spirits, even thought her butt hurts a bit?
Auto body shop confirmed minimal damage. Some very fine surface scratches were able to be buffed out, and the black part of the bumper is being repainted. A couple of rivets (maybe) to replace, which are in stock, and that is it. No other damage to Sally. I should have her back this week.

I have an ICE car as a rental and I very much do not enjoy it at all.

Really glad to hear that!
I agree, driving ICE is weird after the MME experience.
