Last Thursday evening I initiated the return process. Other than receiving a confirmation e-mail with the exchange number EX000527, I have not heard anything more. Is this the case with everyone else who is requesting an exchange?
I initiated the return process last Friday evening (11.8.24). I didn't receive an email confirmation, but when I log into my A2Z account, it does shows that the return process was started on 11.8 and that it was approved. There's no other information.

I saw this on Youtube last week as well with the CEO interview. Interesting how I have yet to receive a recall notice email, but proceeded with the link posted above and submitted my exchange request anyway. In my Exchange Request submitted email confirmation, it said:

"Return Method: Instructions on how to safely dispose of the adapter will be provided upon shipping of your replacement adapter."

I assume my missing recall email and the adapter disposal instructions to come are likely because I'm in Canada (out of NHTSA jurisdiction!) and A2Z is prioritizing dealing with the direct legal issue from the US regulator and the different laws around the recall process.

For those deciding to keep their V1's, as shitty as this is for a small company to go through, a recalled adapter is a liability and has no resale value. The media attention and goodwill shown by A2Z will go a long way in solidifying their reputation and it will hopefully provide enough positive momentum for them to weather this storm. They took a risk to release a product prior to standards being finalized - a calculated risk that any company wanting to break into a market makes. Lets be thankful they didn't lock their doors and run away!

I've had the V1 adapter since the summer and I still haven't received my Ford adapter. Except for the 'break in' period of half a dozen inserts before the NACS plug would click-in, it's been a tremendously reliable device and has served me well on many road trips.

Lets support A2Z with more purchases and highlighting the positive experiences!

I got an e-mail about three days after my request, and then it showed up on their website as a new order. If they're getting a lot of requests, it could take a while.

Select(press)on your original order and you should then see that the return is in progress and that it has been approved.

I have a new 5lb packages label show up on UPS app that is most likely this.

But I’m exchange #14 so guessing I am probably in the first batch.

I just got a shipping notification, along with instructions on how to disable the original adapter. So looks like no return to A2ZEV. I'm not sure this is a good policy.

Why not? Seems like a cost effective way if they ask you to certify the destruction. They are serial numbered and if it turned up still in service later, you would bear the responsibility of any actions. Especially EV service equipment damage from arcing. It saves not only shipping and packaging cost, but CO2 emissions.

Thank you for the tip, that worked. I'm seeing the same thing now...approved and return in progress. As of today I am not seeing a new order generated as some others are.

received shipping notification and disposal instructions (via video file) for the original today. the disposal video just says to bend/break the communication pins on the original adapter and send them a picture of the broken adapter. interesting process but does save them shipping costs. i expect to see v1 adapters show up on ebay but surely no one here would do such a thing.

Ok, I hadn't watched the video describing the deactivation process. They do want you to send a photo of the disabled adapter.

Has anyone gotten a replacement yet? I received an email from A2Z a week ago saying that they had received my exchange request and that it would take 1-3 days to process it. But I have not heard anything since then.

Same here. Request approved. I'm assuming it will ship soon, since my order number was just over 500.
