Got the new interface on my Lightning this morning (FDRS).

It's now Sync 640...and has a dedicated camera button on the top row.

Hoping the Mach-E version will be the same.

AWESOME! Thanks Mike for posting this. Will save others from having to tear apart their car. I should have waited a few months. ?

Are you new here? Since when does Ford roll out software in any logical order. ?

You did a great job! As all other modifications you shared with us this one is great as well!
So far while ford rolling out new software any ideas where can be used “P”-button? I’m really missing physical button to turn on/off Auto-Hold. What do you think it’s possible to convert “P”-button to activate this feature?

There was never a physical button for Auto-Hold, like there is for the Cameras on other Ford cars so don't think that one would be possible, sorry.

To close the loop on the camera button in the 2022s, the kind folks at Forscan provided me with an update to 2.3.51 (current download version is 2.3.49) which allowed me to update the IPMA. Even if/when it comes to the screen header, I still like having the hard button (using the Park assist button) as you can find it pretty easily without having to look down. As I wrote before, in my 2022, I needed to run a wire from the IPMA up front to the Park Assist button as I couldn't tie into the wire back at the IPMA. Not sure when 2.3.51 will be available on the download page, but Forscan seemed very responsive so will probably give to whoever asks. Anway, great mod. Thanks @markboris and happy holidays everyone!

I would love a hard button to turn off Auto-Hold (for parking maneuvers) as well. It's surprising to me that wiring is still required to program the buttons since its all software controlled.

I'd like hard buttons for:
Camara (but looks like Sync update will solve this mostly)
Auto-Hold (since its pretty buried in menu)
Tailgate (Can we reprogram Max Defrost button?)

I don't know if you can reprogram the max defrost button, but you can replace it like many of us have done:

This is totally worth the time and effort. I use it multiple times a week.

I looked into reprogramming the max defrost button to open the liftgate well over a year ago and could not see a way to do this. Mike mentioned in the post above replacing the max defrost button with a tailgate button is what many of us have done. This is the more OEM way to go but a simpler, faster and less expensive way is to just add your own momentary button. Many have done it that way too. https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/adding-an-inside-liftgate-power-switch.6560/post-183453
