Broken windshield, small chip cracked to 2ft!

Had this happen this weekend, was a tiny chip smaller than the tip of my pinky and before I got home it was over a foot, now it's from the drives side to passenger side.

My question is with replacement, I am afraid that State Farm will use cheap glass that doesn't have it/uv coating and also cause issues with the censors.

Has anyone had an issues with generic glass, or with forcing insurance companies to use Ford windshields?

Every windshield has a UV coating. It is a question of whether your windshield came with an IR coating.

As far as I am aware mine has an IR film on the windshield.

Rally's do not have IRR windshields because they do not have a glass pano roof. IRR windshields are only installed on Mach-E's with a glass pano roof.

Most insurance companies will allow use of OEM parts. However, you will have to pay the difference between OEM and aftermarket prices, plus your deductible.

Had non-OE windscreens, last one for c100,000 miles, no problem whatsoever.

I always have a Windshield Protective Film installed on my vehicles so I don't get chips or cracks. While it does cost $500 I prefer spending this money so I don't ever have to go through the hassle of having a windshield replaced.

I will be looking this, I have read it several places already. Thanks. My deductible is already $500 for windshield replacements, so honestly it only takes saving it 1 time to pay for it.
