I was just checking my F-150 estimate range and it says 410 miles at just under 3/4 tank. So assuming full tank would be about 530 miles, divided by 30.6 gallons, that means I would only be getting 17.3 MPG, but the window sticker says 24 MPG combined. My gas tank must be shrinking!

This stuff isn't new, if you've owned a vehicle with DTE, it's always been based on driving behavior and previous consumption. The Mach-E is the same way.

I imagine it's just something people didn't think much about before they got an EV, but just keep in mind that a different power source doesn't mean it can also tell the future. Just like with ICE vehicles it's just an estimate based on previous results and weather. In my F-150 case, I can get 24-25 MPG easy, but lately most of my driving is just a 2 mile round trip taking the kid's to school. Engine is cold, battery capacity is reduced for the hybrid portion, it's just a perfect mix of bad fuel economy.

Your MME is similar, cold weather means more power to heat the cabin and battery, and if it's kept in a non-conditioned space battery capacity itself may suffer a bit. Don't worry about it.

I can get 270 miles of range in the summer if I drive in a way that is similar to the way the EPA tests cars. I do not drive that way, so in the summer my range is around 240 miles. In the winter it is around 180 miles.

This is normal and expected. If Iived in Minnesota, I bet my range in the winter would be less than 180.

You will get better range in the winter if you park in a warmer garage and set a departure time so the battery is warmed up via your EVSE prior to you leaving.

Pretty sure Ford installed the wrong battery, cause this is definitely something that totally happens in 2022.
Not another wrong battery! Why is this always happening.? They also forgot the engine.

[Deep breath, deep breath]

You live in Minnesota.

It is cold in Minnesota now, right?

Have you seen the Seinfeld episode where George goes swimming in the cold pool? #shrinkage

In the dead of winter, expect 100% to be closer to 160...
shrinkage!!!

I heard the catalytic converter thieves are now stealing EV batteries.
Coming soon to a decaying city near you. If it happens, I bet it happen in San Francisco first.

That’s what happens when your wife can’t find the batteries and swaps out one from your Mach-e so she can use the remote to watch the bachelor.

I am in Minneapolis and this is after today’s charge session (E4X CR1). My commute is pretty much internal with highway speeds limited to 60 mph
Ford Mustang Mach-E But mine is a extended range. 277 miles FF999901-8B88-4428-8518-D593DBAFAEBE

For comparison, a few months back I would get 300+ at 95%. Hope this gives some clarity.

I think telling people to NOT trust the GOM is actually a bad plan. Clearly they don’t understand how the cold affects range and now you are telling someone to ignore the fact their car has less range than they personally expect.—A good suggestion is look at your efficiency in miles per kWh and multiply it times 91 or whatever and that’s your range. By all means don’t tell people to ignore the GOM when it’s cold out.
