I think more people would order Selects if there was an extended range battery option.

I can see room for EVs without DCFC in the market. Maybe instead of offering them as an option, they could price the vehicle with them by default, but have an option to not have them, lowering MSRP.All EV's should have a DCFC port no matter what. It shouldn't be offered has an option period.
I can too, but very rare for a BEV (maybe just tiny ones like a Smartcar or something). But no DCFC on a PHEV makes perfect sense. They're usually just like 30 mile batteries, which is ideal for an overnight 120V charge.I can see room for EVs without DCFC in the market. Agree over time, once DCFC infrastructure is ready. At this point I'm happy to have fewer cars taking up the DCFC stations that are out there today. All EV's should have a DCFC port no matter what. It shouldn't be offered has an option period.

That's another reason I think PHEV will be big this decade in the US -- no expensive 240V install needed. Everyone already has 120V in their garage, and often within reach even without a garage.
Unfortunately an EV without a DCFC port will have a big impact on it's resale value.I can see room for EVs without DCFC in the market. Maybe instead of offering them as an option, they could price the vehicle with them by default, but have an option to not have them, lowering MSRP.
But also (fortunately) it's initial purchase price.Unfortunately an EV without a DCFC port will have a big impact on it's resale value.
Well when I made my reservation in January I chose the Premium cause the Select didn't have heated seats and steering wheels at that time and that was out of the question despite the big jump in the price. Of course now they do offer these has an option so my choice today might be different but there's a lot more with the Premium then just the heated seats and steering wheels now that we know of.In choosing a Premium vs Select, I think government rebates also play a big part. In Quebec or BC, take away the Provincial rebates and most of those Premium orders would be dropped or switched to a Select. I assume the same to be true for the US. Humans like deals, and we essentially end up paying the same we would have, but with a few more toys. Rebates are there to help the manufacturers, not really the consumer. LIke others said before, it ends up being cost vs features. I have no rebates, so I chose Select.
Pano roof and B&O sound system are the only items. May be significant, depending on needs. Choices are good, and Ford did a good job with all the models. ER battery is only on Premium also, but much different price point.Well when I made my reservation in January I chose the Premium cause the Select didn't have heated seats and steering wheels at that time and that was out of the question despite the big jump in the price. I think there's also the glass treatment that is more upscale on the Premium and other trims making it more silent inside.Pano roof and B&O sound system are the only items. Yes, the Premium has "WINDOWS-FRT SD LAMINATED GLASS (B2MAC)". Driver and front Passenger windows are laminated.I think there's also the glass treatment that is more upscale on the Premium and other trims making it more silent inside.
Power lift gate. Memory power seats and mirrors. Folding mirrors. LED headlamps. Hands free cruise. There are probably some more.Pano roof and B&O sound system are the only items.
what benefit does the lamination provide? Is it like tint?Yes, the Premium has "WINDOWS-FRT SD LAMINATED GLASS (B2MAC)". Driver and front Passenger windows are laminated.
