Some Mach-E's built before June 10, 2023 may have paint sealant issues around the door hems (edges) of the side entry doors. The paint may begin to bubble or corrode, creating an appearance issue. Dealers will inspect and repair as necessary. The repair involves brushing all the paint off the bottom of the door and repainting (body shop work).

I've had this on one of my rear passenger doors, which was fixed under warranty last year. (June 2021 build). Honestly, Ford, can't you make cars anymore. You've only been doing this for more than 100 years. What with all the other recalls and issues, windshield (windscreen) replacement, glass roof resealing, HVJB recall, squeaks and rattles etc this may be my one and only new Ford car purchase.

My dad used to have a Ford Cortina (UK) in 1978 - 1984 in which time it became a rot box shed with split sills, non working wipers, manual gearbox which jumped out of third gear and the stick had to be held down to change into fourth and the camshaft self destructed. This while all being serviced on time. He vowed never to have a Ford again and his experience rubbed off on to me. It was known as the Dagenham dustbin. (When Ford used to manufacture cars there).

I thought I would give Ford a go this time as surely they've improved after all these years?

This is a symptom of not letting the seam sealer used at the panel crimp not cure properly before priming and painting. I have seen it from more than one manufacturer on cars in the J-yards. Obviously those cars didn’t get fixed before their useful lives ended. At least Ford has released this CSP to correct it. ?‍♂?

I went to Ford.com, logged in, and clicked on Vehicle Health Report. That didn’t show it, but a bit later I got an email with my Vehicle Health Report and there it was. You can also see out online of you go to Ford’s recall page for your car.

Wow. Thanks for sharing. Mine (2021) is going in to have the door replaced since it creaks like a 15 year old junker! The spot welding on the top hinge on the driver’s side door is starting to fail. There was a big problem with this on the Ford Escape as well apparently, and now it’s affecting one MME that I know of. Anyone else see this? Ford dealer is also the body shop, they tell me that ford will replace under the 3/36 bumper to bumper. Of course they’ll have to paint the door to match the rest of the car (Iconic Silver). The journey with Ford continues!

Just checked mine, and they appear perfect, not even like the "passes" picture.

All 7 doors on my July, 2022 MME look fine. I'm also counting the back hatch, the frunk, and the charging port doors.

All fine here.... My Rt. 1 waas built in December 2020. It may have been produced under a low rate initial production (LRIP) phase. Thus, it could have received additional inspections attention from Manufacturing Engineers.

Mine has some of the 'does not pass' on the passenger side doors but only in the hinge-side vertical hems. Thus it doesn't qualify for repair per Ford's inspection instructions, since the bottom horizontal hems are perfect.

I'm not worried about it.

They will blame it on a supplier
