I’ve had my 2021 Premium AWD for over 2 years and 26k miles and it finally betrayed me. Woke up this morning to a completely dead brick. Can only assume it’s the 12v but what caused the drain I guess is the real question. It was plugged in to my charger in the garage. Appeared to reach its 80% charge state around 12:30 am. No faults picked up in FordPass. This am I was able to use to pop open the bumper port and use a Noco Boost to pop the frunk. Then I got it started by accessing the battery. Drove it around a bit hoping to charge up the 12v but the second I pulled back in the driveway it was dead as a doornail again. So I’ll try and call the local service place tomorrow and repeat the process. Hopefully I can get it going to get it there. At least it’s facing the right direction in my driveway now should it need a tow. Anybody have any thoughts on what might be causing the drain without any warnings showing up in FordPass? Official Ford folks want me vin to open a case number?

FYI you’d have to drive it for an hour to get a decent charge on the 12V battery. But sounds like your battery may be bad.

Thanks. I didn’t drive it that long so maybe it’s saveable. Suppose I could try and see.

at the risk of spending money, you could get a Bluetooth OBD reader and buy the android/iOS app called "car scanner". it has a profile for the MME, so you can see what the 12V SOC is and figure out how long you need to leave the car on, or if the SOC is even changing.

you don't have to drive it, but you need to leave it someplace safe with the ignition on and the car in READY mode.

I had the same problem(twice) with my 2020 escape hybrid. After the second boost, I drove it to the dealer and insisted the change the 12v battery. They did and I never had the dead car issue again.

Hey there! Thanks for telling us about the issue with your 2021 Mach-E battery being dead. Can you DM me your VIN and dealer name so I can check this out for you? I'd be happy to see what I can do to assist. Thanks a bunch!
