I wish the center arm rest was a little higher/longer. I don't know if it's just me, but it feels like it's a tad bit too low for comfort. I've kind of adjusted, but when I hop into my 17' Colorado for a drive, my right arm just rests down so naturally and easily.
Yes! The arm rest looks great, but it seems slightly off in terms of driving position.

So … instead of last decade you prefer 6+ decades ago? ;)

I think it’d be officially “retro.” :p
Sure! Actually, I'd prefer buttons the size of the parking assist buttons. I don't understand why gear shifting needs to be so prominent anyway. It seems like a holdover from manual transmission vehicles.

Right and Ford probably sold twice as many MME by going with 4 doors.
No, not exactly. The MME did outsell the ICE Mustang last month, but not by 2 to 1. 2465 vs 2240. For the year though, the ICE Mustang is well out in front by a 2.5 to 1 ratio or higher, and due to build constraints will remain there or higher. The MME is constrained to 50,000 total units world wide (with 20,000 or so slated for the NA market) for model year 2021.

Joe’s comments were a play on the “Mustangs don’t have 4 doors” comments some have received, including myself yesterday. I merely pointed out the obvious. ;)

WHAT IS THE MEMORY FUNCTION

Memory Seats
The memory function recalls the position

of these features:

  • Driver seat.

  • Power mirrors.

    MEMORY FUNCTION PRECAUTIONS

    LOCATING THE MEMORY FUNCTION BUTTONS

    E142554

The memory function buttons are on the driver door.
The base Select without either of the "comfort" packages does not have memory seats. One could argue that since it is available on all but the base select it shouldn't be listed as a "design aspect you don't like", but the OP didn't put any restrictions on the question so it's a fair comment.

not really a “play” in that I genuinely wish they hadn’t used the Mustang name on a 4-door. I am one of those “Not a Mustang!?” people. I absolutely LOVE everything else about this vehicle.

If I had to pick something as a design aspect I’d didn’t like, this would be it.

It’s not a design element, so much as a trim level issue. It is available as an option.

Yes, I know. I was being polite. ;)

Ford owns the name. They get to decide decide what’s a Mustang and what isn’t. We should be thankful they didn’t slap it on the new small truck instead. ;)

Honestly though @JoeDimwit, I almost never call it a Mustang beyond telling people the name of the car, mostly that’s to differentiate it from the coupe when I’m talking to someone not familiar with it. On the other hand, my wife, sister, and 93 year old father call it a Mustang. The single time I did insist upon calling it a Mustang was when a bystander insisted it wasn’t, that the pony emblems were fake, and that it wasn’t even a Ford. ;)

Usually when I’m asked about it it’s “Is that the new Mustang?” The car is still very rare on this island.

No physical button for the rear hatch inside the car...
I fixed that on my car (and others have also).
Adding a Rear Hatch Power Switch Inside

No physical knobs for the climate controls. The slider is way too small and fickle to be adjusting the temperature when driving on concrete roads and your hand is bouncing around. I can only adjust the temperature at stoplights.
You don't need to use the slider to adjust the temp. You can tap the + or - button above or below the temp reading several times to achieve the temp you want. You can also set your temp without looking at the display using Sync's Voice Command "Climate set temp to XX degrees".

I actually figured that but was commenting really just in defense of Fords decision to go with 4. Since I rarely have backseat passengers it would not have changed my decision.

Likewise.

Besides, the resident Calico rides up front when she lets us take her somewhere.

Move the cruise control displays out from behind the steering wheel and more to the centre of the monitor. I do not like cranking my neck towards the window to see it. We should be able to touch and drag it to wherever we like it ;) (not hidden behind the wheel).

Did you open all four vents with the rolling wheel? The middle two are kind of hidden behind the screen. Also if you go to the AC screen, you can turn on max AC if you're still not cool enough.
A/C performance is excellent, I just always find myself fiddling with the vents. Far more than any other car I can remember. Maybe its the narrow stream or the drivers center vent being obstructed by the steering wheel and wiper stalk.

While we're on it...Setting the climate to "max" auto should turn on max a/c, especially when the interior is 100+ from being in full sun all day.

You know...first world problems.

I fixed that on my car (and others have also).

Nice! Younger me wouldn't have thought twice about drilling holes in a brand new interior. This me didn't spend over 50k for a project car.

This is interesting because this is the first car where i'm not constantly fiddling with the vents and it's refreshing. I also barely have to change the temp (maybe one or two degrees every so often depending on the day) so I'm pretty happy that I hardly have to touch the settings or vents.
