Any problem popping the buttons out?
Nope. I wasn’t sure how to take the fob apart to get to the buttons, but then I realized that the entire front panel (including the buttons) pops out just like the back panel. Super easy. I may still try to find a hatchback button.

Can you tell us what part number you gave the parts dept to order this?? And how many rewards points was it?
Part# 164-R8304 which I believe is the same part the other members bought and programmed successfully. Also, as Mike G had stated, you can order part# NL3T-15K601-EC. Took my dealer two days to get this and it programmed successfully on my '21 Job 2. I didn't use rewards to purchase this as I had a credit with the parts department.

How do you guys close your frunk? Is there any trick? Seems like I have to slam it down, but because the struts are so strong, it's hard to get enough force. If close it slowly then put pressure on the latch, then the hood feels like it's going to cave.
It could just be in my head, and these really don’t adjust, but I started with adjusting the bumpers a half turn clockwise, and I have mine closing much better. I drop my hood from 1/2 to 1/4 height, and it closes with no issue.

It could simply be that I’ve opened and closed mine enough, though.

I might get the button swap a try. The tailgate icon doesn't completely bother me, but I’ll probably give it a try. By the way, I think the trunk button looks more like ours than the Explorer hatch. Your fob looks good.

If anyone is keeping count, my new fob is working on a Job 1.

Yeah, the shape is probably closer to the Mach-E than the hatch button with the flat back. But the hinge is in the wrong place. Of course, none of this really matters at all. I guess we'll need somebody to design a custom button that looks exactly like the rear end of the MME. :)

Can we just swap the MME button and put the truck tailgate button on the unused MME fob? Having 1 that you don’t use with funky buttons out of 3, should be okay, haha!

No, because the MME trunk button is in a different spot, and therefore is a different shape. That's why you need to acquire a trunk (or hatch) button from another 5-button fob.

How about getting a euro MME fob and using the buttons from that?

Ford will do what they're going to do with the Job 1 frunks, Mr. Farley stopped calling me for advice on how to run the Ford Motor Company ages ago. ;)

Getting the job 1s caught up with the job 2 2021s, the 2022s, and soon 2023s feature-wise might be an impossible task given the ongoing need to address various software bugs, software corruption, and other various improvements. If we never get a remote frunk release (button or otherwise), I'll be happy with the car. Double pulling the mechanical release doesn't take that much effort. :)
It’s just an annoyance because all of the hardware (and software) has literally been available and mostly in the vehicle since day 1. Ford has just not enabled it for Job 1 vehicles for some mysterious reason (and yes, people will go on about doll children (people are watching too much Servant), and space aliens and other bizarre conspiracy theories. I personally blame Elon Musk ?)

Depends which part# you ordered. If it ends with EB it comes with the key blank. If it ends with EC, it doesn’t. The one I ordered from keylessentryremotefob.com did come with one.

I tried ordering at the counter with a part jumber, but they couldn't find anything. I then had them use a VIN from a random Lightning and they then saw the number 164R8304 and ordered that. Serves me right for not reading the OP fully before purchasing. I also paid way more than you out-of-pocket, even after using my FordPass points. I didnt know there was anothet option.

If you don’t want to move the key blank from your MME fob, they can be had inexpensively. Don’t buy it from Ford.

My $.02… just buy the replacement shell from Amazon if you want the key blank. You will also get the hatch button that you can replace if you don’t like the F-150 tailgate icon.
