I think it was Doug's review that pointed out how the EV6 screens make you toggle between music and climate controls, and you can't have both controls displayed at the same time. That's a daily use item that would make me crazy, especially since the toggle arrow is small. Might be tough to hit it while driving. I find that driving electric I regularly turn climate on and off to save battery, and of course switch Sirius stations regularly. Appreciate how the Mach-E has controls for both always on display. The EV6 does have some other great features though- I like how you're able to move it forward or backward slowly with the key fob. Styling is pretty nice too. Can't go wrong with either one.Just asked local dealer about EV6, he said he expects 3 AWD GT-Line models in March, and I put my name on the list for one of them.
I'm still waiting to be scheduled for production from an Oct order. If I am not scheduled for production by the time this EV6 arrives, and the EV6 does not have any crazy last minute markups... I might be switching.
Premium AWD ext battery and GT-Line AWD both have similar range and similar 0-60 numbers. But the EV6 has:
+ quicker charging (not a huge deal to me)
+ vented seats, heated rear seats
+ sunroof opens
+ I think ground clearance is a touch higher?
- smaller storage spaces
- not as cool as the mustang
Am I missing other things?
Curious, how much do you think you save by turning climate on and off? It only estimates a few miles difference on the EV6 I believe. I set it and forget it. Are your Sirius stations all pre-sets? I use the steering wheel controls for that. I guess non-issues for me for both of those. Appreciate you bringing them up.I think it was Doug's review that pointed out how the EV6 screens make you toggle between music and climate controls, and you can't have both controls displayed at the same time. Really? How do you use it?It has become so handy for me. I would not want to give it up but it would not be a deal breaker but it adds up with other things that could be a deal breaker
Same. I keep the dog bed in the frunk. I put takeout food in there (Indian curry dishes make me especially paranoid and grateful for the frunk). It's handy for some extra luggage space. It has become so handy for me. I would not want to give it up but it would not be a deal breaker but it adds up with other things that could be a deal breaker
Hard to imagine it's worse than the Premium I ordered on May 2, 2021 not being delivered until March 2-7, 2022. 10 months, assuming they hit that new deadline.Well Kia's production schedule may challenge one's patience too. Just sayin'.
My wife and I wisely bought canceled orders that were offered to us, her's 32 days after ordering, and mine 4 months later.Hard to imagine it's worse than the Premium I ordered on May 2, 2021 not being delivered until March 2-7, 2022. 10 months, assuming they hit that new deadline.
Were you able to do that without paying ADM if you don't mind my asking? My wife and I wisely bought canceled orders that were offered to us, her's 32 days after ordering, and mine 4 months later.
She got hers before ADM became a thing. I paid $1,500 ADM. I didn't complain, posters here were already paying much, much more, and the dealer was great to work with. Were you able to do that without paying ADM if you don't mind my asking?
EVs generally are going to lose power as they discharge. Some lose more than others (i.e. I think the Mach tends to lose a lot more than Teslas based on testing I've seen at various SoCs).Did I hear right in that 2nd video that the MachE loses some acceleration power when its under 70% charged?
We can only hope no one takes the bait.At my rundown Kia dealership that is getting a half dozen EV6s… $15K markup on all of them. Yikes.
