Understood. My car is faster than either our 4 X or a GT by a good margin so I’m definitely not going to accept a 5 sec limit. Plus, we have 80 and 85mph toll roads right next to us and frequently go 90+ mph. And a GT going 90+ in 95-100F heat has jail bar city. Not doing it.

Edit: looked at your sig. haha. Our 4X is space white also and we did OZ Gran Turismo HLT 20s on 255/45 Conti ExtremeContact DWS06s
It’s pretty clear that many people here don’t know what it’s like to “push” a performance car.

85 mph speed limits is a perfect example……. Except that shouldn’t even “push” a Honda Civic, but it makes the GT out of breath.

And no, the examples of cruising on a road then passing a few cars isn’t even remotely pushing a performance car.

Go find a nice curvy road, push the GT for real, then you will find it ending up slower than a minivan (no exaggeration, there is a video).

Or slower than a 190 hp wagon in the cold on the autobahn (another video).

But if you live in the warm places, keep it fully charged, and only need/want short bursts of huge acceleration……. It will put a smile on your face every time.

If you're doing 35mph and accelerate for 10 seconds you're well over 100 mph. If you're out hot rodding the vehicle the limit presents itself rather quickly. It comes on like it fades, gradually. I passed 4 cars and a semi truck before running out of visibility. I drive the thing quite hard. I don't call it my beater in jest. The whole idea of passing 1 car, waiting and then having trouble passing another vehicle is hilarious.

Sure, it's possible that with lower battery SOCs, continual beating on the car at higher speeds, passing a vehicle that's already doing ~70 mph, and trying to pass another at those speeds recklessly, parts of it may pop up. It'd take a handful of variables to line up combined with excessively reckless driving for it to be seen as a problem from who ever was driving it.

I didn't buy a track inspired vehicle, I bought a road tuned car that's more than capable of doing just that. If someone bought a road car hoping for a race car, well just a hint of due diligence would have been enough to point them towards another vehicle.
Not to start a flame war, but are you kidding with this? Punch it to clear a car driving 55, be stuck behind another car doing 55, then try to punch it, and you will have problems, even at 70+ percent SOC. I don’t understand the apologists for Ford, there is a performance problem with the GTPE. Are you suggesting there is not? I love the car, it’s just a glaring flaw, just like the HVJB.

No, I expected a car that wouldn’t mess the bed after 5 seconds of throttle, not a “track-inspired” or “track-ready” car, okay??? Bye!

There's quite a few people on this forum that think you should drive like them, live where they live, think like them and never complain about what Ford does. Just gotta ignore them ... or fight with them.

There's a lot of posts about this from when the GTPE came out. We went through the same thing with some of the same attitudes back then.

I'm not sure how fast you all are having to go to pass people, but I don't usually try to pass a car that's already doing 80+, let alone 2 or 3 in a row. Plus I don't have a GT so I don't even have bars to look at. Just brake lights from the ones in front of me.

I have a select now, let me say, I can constantly push this one hard, I keep getting same response over and over, unlike the GT, the performance is throttled, that one was fun, but my RWD is not bad, I still go from 80 to 100-110 multiple times during the trip with 0 throttling, good luck doing that in a GT.

Well to be fair to the car's gimped thermal throttling, it does only limit itself to that of the RWD's power. It still feeds 230kW to the 210kW motors....

I think the issue a lot of us have (or had, since I sold mine) with the GTs is not that the car isn't quick and fun to drive. It is, in most situations. Its the IDEA that your 480hp car becomes a ~250hp car. The Tesla MYP doesn't do this. The Kia EV6GT doesn't either. Both are similar in price, if not cheaper. It just made me feel like I bought an inferior and/or poorly engineered product, which bothered me.
The BMW i4 M50 I have now absolutely RIPS at speed. It will blast from 70 to 100 waaaaaayyyyyy faster than the MMEGT I had. Not that I would ever do that...
I still prefer the looks and interior roominess of the MMEGT to the BMW.

Yep. i4 M50 traps 120mph in the 1/4, like it should. Also, looks like an i5 M60 might provide the space and pace you desire ??

Yes the i5 M60 would be pretty awesome but I am not going to take that bite financially yet. I am planning to hold on to the i4 until the "next gen" stuff starts showing up, or longer.

Smart. Now that the used market has corrected we’re back to reality. I’m just a bit pissed that I couldn’t convince my wife to get an i4 m40 or 50 back when they still qualified for the $7500 credit and our 4X was getting $60-63K buy offers.

Yeah, I’m going to hang on to my MME GTPE, probably not going to buy another Ford EV due to the letdown of the 5 seconds, and that I’ve been through 2 HVJB replacements, I love the car, am obsessed by it, but I don’t think Ford can convince me to trade up. Once, sure, but not twice. Keeping this one until the ESP runs out or the wheels fall off.

Yet another drama filled thread with folks who want to drive a race car on public roads. Y’all are edge cases. The vast majority of MME drivers will never encounter the issue you all seem to have going to the grocery store.

Such ridiculous, hand wringing drama. Drop the hammer while doing 65 and you’ll be doing 100 mph in five seconds. Save it.
There's also a lot of people, like yourself, that wish to drive slower than my 93yo grandmother, but we don't come here to say anything about it. We just honk and flash our lights at you for camping in the left lane, which is also illegal.

Some of us don't like the high speed performance and think it should be improved. Some of us like taking cars on the track and some of us don't really give a damn what anyone else on the forum thinks, but we would like Ford to know that we want more power.

I'm sorry that you are bothered because some of us want something that you don't want. It's a rough world out there.

So does the iX M60, like snap your head back accleration.
i4 M50 traps 120mph in the 1/4, like it should.
So does the iX M60, which is remarkable for a vehicle of that size and weight.

Love it, but will it hold two golf bags? That's my personal deal breaker issue.
