Strange. Was it up and over the back seat and not stuck or pinched in the side? Sometimes when I fold the seat they flop down beside rather than over the backrest.

Something cut that seatbelt, No one is strong enough to tear one of those.
your post is a little confusing. Was the seatbelt tight against the seat or what? The lock mechanism should release by fully retracting the seatbelt not pulling on it. Either way something is not right here.

Seat belts are basically covered for the life of the vehicle. Disturbing that this would happen on two of them.

Agree with the above, looks like something was defective here? I don’t see how it is possible to rip a seat belt like that cleanly off, unless tremendous force was applied?

Not exactly.

Safety Restraint Warranty
Under the factory warranty, your Ford vehicle's airbag Supplemental Restraint System, or SRS, and safety belts are covered for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.

In practice, an automaker will rarely refuse a seat belt warranty claim. If you wear it out, that's different.

Youre looking at several thousand lbs of force to break the webbing itself and somewhere around at least thousand lbs for the mechanism. It’s definitely something broken with a sharp edge.
Op should definitely file a claim and notify NHTSA since both are locking up.

only been used twice in the receipt and the second time this is what happened I couldn't speak to anything being folded or damaged everything looked like it had been straight.
Hello! Can you send us a private message with your VIN and Ford dealership name? I’d like to look into this seatbelt concern for you. Thanks!

Hopefully you don't have rodents. Had that happen to an old car of mine. Seatbelrs looked very similar. Rodents get in anywhere. May not be a bad idea to get some rodent deterrents wherever the car is parked. Godspeed friend

This is exactly what I was thinking. Look for tears or holes in the upholstery as well. My son had a car that got mice in it and they started nesting in the rear seat cushions.

Something cut that belt (or ate it). No way in hell a faulty mechanism caused that after just being pulled on. And its not cut sharply like a blade, its more ripped, which would take thousands of pounds of force. Or a set of teeth and some time. Seat belt webbing generally has something like 3000-6000 lbs of tensile strength.

UPDATE -

Now the front belts seats are showing wear from the sides. Fraying and unraveling.
FOMOCO responded 10 days ago. What happened with that? Have you had the dealer look at it and what did they say?

Yes they Did . Long story but due to parts issues with other ford car 2 and half months waiting . Can not take it in to the dealer until other car is repaired . dealer has no loaners etc. I am hoping to soon they started a case number .
Where in Orange County are you going? Tuttle Click Ford usually has a bunch of loaners/rentals that you should easily get covered. This is a huge safety issue, I would push insanely hard... your car is NOT safe to drive.
