So, I didn't do anything but literally just got this email.

Edit: Just got another email from my dealer who said he was able to convert it to an order but we'll configure it tomorrow.

I just got a call from dixiekidd88 from Bill Brandt Ford. They have my GTPE order and have submitted it. Woo-hoo! I'll be using X-plan and whatever incentives/rebates we can find. LOL

Yeah. Dixiekidd88 said that he'd be keeping an eye out for incentives when he hears that mine will be ready to ship.

My dealer is adding $1000 and I have the X-Plan. Is that normal/reasonable?

I would not pay it, which is why I verified that there would be no ADM and that x-plan would be honored. I have walked away from cars I really, really wanted for far less. However, to you it may not be worth the hassle of finding another dealer, driving further out, etc. Really it comes down to how you feel about giving the dealer a $1000 more because they think they offer something so special and unique.

If you have confirmed in writing with your dealer that they will accept X-plan on your deal, then I wouldn't be concerned about this $1,000. The dealer is not allowed to charge this type of added markup if they are working your deal under plan pricing.

If you have NOT gotten this in writing, do so... If they won't agree to it, you should switch dealers before confirming the order.

This is completely unreasonable. With Ford's A/Z/X plans, the prices are clearly stated on the invoice and there are no markups. Here's the rub though, the dealer can decide not to honor the discount price.

In areas where there are a high concentration of Ford employees/retirees, dealers know they can't pull any crap (knowledgable customer base). In areas where there aren't many Ford employees, it's not beyond belief for a dealer to prey on people's lack of knowledge. Find a dealer who won't charge markup. They're out there.

My "special and unique" experience with Sunnyvale Ford had them slip in a $3995 ADM when I placed the order. I had to hassle with the general manager and call them on the email I made them write me back in July 2020 where they assured me they would sell me my GT at MSRP and with no ADM. I made them reply to my email again and confirm they would not be tacking on the $3995 and would sell me the car at MSRP.

I wonder what ADM some of these dealers will try for cancelled GT orders that show up on their lot.

I imagine quite a bit until they become a bit more common, maybe early '22.

OK, something weird just happened. Since placing my order, Ford's web page had little green check marks next to "Order sent to Dealer" and "Order Accepted by Dealer." Now, I get this:

Anything to be concerned with, or is this just "normal?"

Happened to me a couple days ago and then the check marks showed up again about a day later. I think the site or backend is kind of buggy because it took me almost 3 days longer than most to even get it to let me configure my order.
