The new update from the dealer fixed my charging problem. Hope it works for all of you!
How long did they need to keep your car to apply the required update(s) ?

Just made my appointment for next Thursday. The service director told me he did a mach yesterday and it went well. He said the update was very easy to do.

A day. It takes about 3 hours for them to apply the update to the various modules. There are multiple modules that need to be updated. I have had the car back 2 days since the update was applied. The first attempt failed but since that time it’s been 100% successful. I did notify the Mach-E engineer of my initial issue but since that time it’s been perfect.

Dropped my MME off at 9 AM, got the call at 12:15 that car is ready. Mobile charger was plugged in and ready to go.

Electrons are now flowing on the 240V circuit !!!

Just returned from about 2 hours 45 minutes at the dealer getting the updates (and a second fob programmed.) Got home and plugged in the car and Mustang Sally started sucking down juice from the 240v teat right away.

Looks like some of my programmed charge management settings disappeared from FordPass, but that feels like a minor price to pay to charge.

Now the waiting begins for my ChargePoint Flex to come in. At least I'll be able to use it now :)

I was at Joe Cotton Ford Monday 4/26 for the front subframe bolts recall and asked about the software update. The service advisor said they had no information on it and that if one was available I would be notified. He mentioned that any update would be have to be specifically targeted for my VIN. No point ordering a 240VAC/50A cord right now. That said, charging with the Ford Mobile at 240VAC/20A is working out fine.

Steve- This update is not by the VIN. Unless you have a complaint logged to FORD directly they will not know you are impacted. Technical Service Bulletin 21-2123 has all the required information. You can find the bulletin on the forum also. So go back and ask them to read TSB 21-2123.

So got the dealer to install the TSB that Ford released and also notified Chargepoint about the issue. Thanks to the members for posting the info about the issue specifically with owners in IL. One question I do have for all that got the update is now that it is able to charge on the 240v line, it was very very loud. There were other mentions about it being loud as the pumps for cooling the battery kick in but this was constant and it just would not stop until it finished charging. Others mentioned that the noise goes back to a small hum after the initial cooling period. I checked and the vents were open but it was really loud. Is this normal ?

I am guessing that the battery was warm when you started to charge so the car was also cooling the battery. I am curious when you charge today if it won't be loud because we are sadly back in the high 50s today. I noticed this same thing for me yesterday but today after a short drive it just has the normal humming and some clicking (which is completely normal on most EVs, my Tesla did it too). Just make sure your charge port LEDs are not Amber and you do not have any notifications of charging issues.
