Pretty sure if I went out to the car right now with a 12V battery I could get the solenoid to let me open the frunk. I don't think the car's 12V battery has to be dead. Those leads go directly to the frunk actuator solenoid. Applying 12V (twice) should pop the lid no problem.
You are incorrect.

UPDATE…
I was able to jump open the frunk by grounding the jumper battery to the strut. I was then able to jump the 12V and get the car out of my garage. Now just waiting for a call back from my dealer for a service appointment. Thanks you all for the suggestions to get the frunk open! Huge relief to at least get it out of my garage.

I spent about an hour fishing around. Unfortunately, I was sideswiped a few months ago and the bumper needed to be replaced. Stupid on me for not checking that they had thread both back into the emergency panel
Wow, here’s a PSA everyone, make sure your jump leads are still present behind the cover if a body shop worked on your car.

Glad you got it.

Reminds me of the windshield recall service where shops were damaging the washer fluid tubing and camera coax cable upon re-assembly.

If enough time goes by, I bet most shops just deny any accountability from their shoddy workmanship.

That'd be a terrible security issue if anyone could access a storage area of your car with just a battery.

Disconnect the 12V battery to test
To reduce risk, I'd probably open the hood and leave it open.

Try the frunk open wires with a jump start battery. Verify it doesn't do anything.

Then disconnect the vehicle's 12V battery and try the frunk release jump start again. It should make noises (from the solenoids).

I believe it's been tested by a few people, perhaps even @Mach-Lee.

Agree but not sure. That would mean it is insecure 100% of the time. Anyone could get in at any time. How is it tested than other than a dead 12V when you need it?
Don't follow.

I told Mike that it will not work unless the 12v battery is dead. So, it's SECURE, except when the 12v battery is dead. Already been tested by others.

Understand what I asked back a page was how do you test if the solenoid works without a dead 12V. Can you pull a fuse to mimic it? Must be a way or maybe just no quality control test for that?

Just disconnect the 12V. That simulates a dead 12V battery. I haven’t done it because I don’t want to re-set up all of my settings. 😊🐩

I haven't done it because I believe the results that others have said. 🤔 ;)
