Is the Mach-E really 7 years behind Tesla?

FWIW, I found this in the Ford announcement for Europe. The "for employees" qualifier is the part that stuck out in regards to what we've been discussing here as to whether dealership chargers are expected to be open to the public or not.

"Ford also today announced plans to introduce 1,000 charging stations at Ford facilities across Europe during the next three years to make charging simple and convenient for employees."

The question to me is, will Ford and others join up to create a US-equivalent charging consortium like they do in Europe with Ionity?
So far it appears Ford's focus for charging is:
(1) facilitating home charging solutions for customers
(2) their FordPass network app which is basically a payment/station consolidator for 3rd party charging stations
(3) getting their dealerships up to speed to sell and service EVs

And of course, the overwhelming majority of that $11B electrification investment is in the vehicles themselves.

Makes sense to me, since most of Ford's EV offerings will be PHEV, not BEV. They recognize that home charging is where the meat of the available consumer market sits.

Interesting article about DCFC and SuperCharger build out from last August:
https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1124639_chademo-fast-charging-stations-still-outnumber-ccs-ones

"As of August 20, 2019, there are 2,140 charging stations and 3,010 connectors with CHAdeMO fast charging. CCS still lags behind CHAdeMO in the number of stations by more than 250, while it has about 500 more connectors. And Tesla has 678 Supercharger locations with 6,340 connectors. The Nissan Leaf lineup is the only one still on the market to primarily use the CHAdeMO standard."

This has probably changed a bit since with the major rollout of EA stations.

The government portion is slowly ramping up as interstate sections are designated alternative fuel routes such as in Pa with a recent grant of 250000 to a food store chain to install high power level 3 chargers

I wouldn't say that's true at the state and municipal level. We now have lots of examples where states and cities are actively participating in the EV infrastructure development process.

And perhaps the biggest piece is a result of govt action -- the settlement with VW that created EA.

Also, that $7500 federal tax credit is huge.

(Not that I'm a proponent of lots of government mandates and taxpayer subsidies, but there is a significant amount of govt intervention going on in the US too.)

but I am just assuming L3..
I hope this comes true, but think people will be disappointed . The average person sees "fast charge" and gets excited. I can tell you L2 is slow. Once you are in the EV community 150kw is what you will be wanting. We have 2 EV's for 6+ years, maybe we are exceptions, but probably not.

Ford has announced that they will partner with VW on EA so part of the $11 Billion will be to EA.
EA has today 800 under development and will have 3500 total by December 2021

Let me make a correction

EA has 400 stations today nationwide
Tesla has 756 today

based on green car reports website at the current trend in EA it will potentially surpass Tesla in the not too distant future.

No, you’re forgetting that most Chademo stations also have a CCS-Combo.

Not really. Checking their website for locate a charger, which I assume is most accurate:
CCS
1400

CCS-CHAdeMO
409

Level 2
92

CCS are all DC fast chargers. The Level 2 only are decreasing....
