Ya that's how mine was acting but I was able to get the code to show up because it threw the code when I charged at 48 amps. At 48 amps it doesn't throttle, it shuts down. If you could find someone with a 48 amp you might get it to throw the code. It takes only a couple of seconds at 48.
I charge at 48 amps and it takes 2 hours before throttling occurs. It never shuts down.

I don’t know anyone with a 48 unit. As I said before Best to get my torch cigar lighter and see if I can heat up the unit just enough .

most of the time it doesn’t really matter as I generally charge at 32 anyway but when you need more it would be nice to have more available. Just frustrating to find out by accident and not hearing from Ford that it might take longer to charge.

BTW when I cleaned the pins (my car has 32k on it) it helped with the tiny fluctuations, they still happen, but not as much (as much of a swing from .5kW, now more like .25kW).

Come on over, I'll wait. lol.

Several have reported that charge port replacement did fix it. It’s possible that your replacement is out of spec. It would interesting to see what your port temp sensor is reading during throttling.
I’ll see if I can get a reading. my work schedule and her charging schedule almost never align to allow me to be home. And having to be at the car waiting for the throttling…. That’s a tough one for me.

Your temp sensor most likely is ok then.
Guess we can not see your work order? So your charging was quitting and you had the DTC code before the update so you got fixed. Your dealer followed this SSM 51866. The rest of us that do not have that code and just got the update that throttles have no chance of receiving that code and therefore not able to receive your fix.

So the charging port fixed it for you ? We are left sitting for months with no word that there is even a problem let alone if we will be fixed or not. Right now my service says not.

Trying to add to the data collection but I don’t know how y’all are making those data log graphs. With my OBD reader plugged in, the coupler temp was showing 70°C while charging at 32 amps after 30 minutes or so.
Ford Mustang Mach-E L2 charging speed recently dropped 33% IMG_4317

I then amped up the Grizzl-E (pun intended) to 40 amps.
After 15 minutes it’s still pulling 40amps, 8.4KW with a coupler temp of 81°C.

I’m sure it’s about to slow down, but I can’t stand out here all night staring at my phone.

My EVSE is a juicebox pro 48. It's a smart charger that automatically draws the charging curve. I bought it specifically to be able to monitor and troubleshoot anything that occurs. Money well spent.

I guess for this purpose my complete lack of a circadian rhythm has been useful. Couldn’t sleep so I went to check the car.
84°C coupler Temp and still doing 40amps. Fans were not running. But then I watched it drop to 30 amps. Stayed there until the coupler temp reached 74°C then back up to 40 amps. I watched for 10 more minutes and screen recorded my car scanner app. Took right at 5 minutes to then hit 83°C and fall back to 30 amps. This time to fans turned on and the temp took 3 minutes to fall all the way to 72° before it resumed 40amps.
So my new charge port is still reaching 84°C and charge is being throttled to 30 amp speed. It’s only 58°F on the garage tonight and still I can only maintain full 40 amps for about 5 minutes.
Now I’m going to assist myself to sleep while not assisting my liver function. Good night ?
