The Clock Has Started ?
My dealer just confirmed their glass company has a sufficient supply of replacement windshields, so they can go ahead with my windshield/pano recall. I asked them to do 21G01 at the same time, so we now have a race! Will the OTA for BlueCruise complete before I go in for the windshield/pano recall? This race is SO exciting ????
You should ask them to install glass in the middle of the hood while you’re there. So at least you can see down into your frunk even if you can’t open it.

Just talked to my dealer. 2-3 days for the update. I have it scheduled for 4/15 they will have my car all that week since I’m on vacation anyways. 2-3 days seems really long for a “update”

Along with the email that went out to stuck 1.7.1 users to tell them the dealer can install the BC updates, 21G01 has dropped to detail the requirements and process for this update.

REASON FOR THIS COMMUNICATION To inform you that Ford Motor Company is notifying vehicle owners of an optional product improvement program on the affected vehicles. This communication will help you answer customer questions. Customers of early-launch 2021 F-150 or 2021 Mustang Mach-E with Ford Co-Pilot360™ Active 2.0 Prep Package (includes BlueCruise Prep Kit 43C/50G) will receive: • Ford Power-Up software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA) that include the BlueCruise hands-free driver assist feature, began deployment to customer vehicles in the first quarter of 2022. Software updates delivered OTA could take several weeks before all software is delivered, and the feature is fully functional. The updates also will include some new features while accelerating the pace of future features and enhancements. • Or, the option of complimentary dealer installation of the BlueCruise hands-free driver assist feature software (Dealer software installation takes 2 to 8 hours). • One (1) year of complimentary BlueCruise service once the hands-free driver assist feature is activated and functioning
So, is this saying that performing 22-2117 gives you BlueCruise?

No, but the dealer can do the BC updates when you take it in for that fix if you want, but will likely take them at least 2 days. Or, after getting 22-2117, you will get the BlueCruise OTA's soon if you don't want the dealer to do it.

Who wants to teach me how to do FDRS myself so I never have to depend on others again?

(Yeah yeah, I know there's a thread, but I'm scurred. I need someone to hold my hand and tell me it'll be okay.)

As the previous poster said.. 22-2117 gets you unstuck from 1.7.1, but unless the tech keeps going with the updates using FDRS (which are all available to them) you'll get your car back without BC, unless you tell them you want 21G01 right after 22-2117 gets done. And yeah, having done essentially 21G01 personally I can tell you it will take a full day with a good internet connection for a tech to get this done. And if he starts later in the morning, probable two days. And that assumes everything goes smoothly. ...I would NOT wait for OTAs at this point since they keep getting pushed back.

My car is currently in the shop, probably getting TSB 22-2117 as we speak. The tech says the rest of the updates will be put on tomorrow. I hope that's the end of it.

I was a complaining earlier about being stuck at 2.4.1 and had a failure of 2.4.2 and I guess Ford was listening because I just got notification of 2.4.3 ready to install.

Wife is out with the car and I called and asked her if she saw the little bell icon on top of center screen and she said it was there. Here's how the rest of that a convo went.

Me: Well, when you stop push that bell and it will start installing the update but beware that the you will locked out and the car unavailable for about 30 min after you start that.

Her: No, it can do that shit on its own time. I do not want to risk getting stuck out here in the rain. Doesn't it have a schedule for that stuff?

Me: LOL, fine I'll do it when you get home.

Apparently it's super easy. Just connect the laptop via cable and keep pressing "next".

Sounds familiar. My wife and I were out having breakfast this past Sunday and I happened to mention in passing that the Mach-E was going to the dealership on Friday the 8th for the glass recalls (even though my windshield has already been replaced twice) and for the Blue Cruise updates. Here is how that conversation went:

Me: Dropping off the car on Friday for some recalls and software updates. They said they can get it done in one day. Pick up on Friday after work or first things Sat morning.

Her: Like hell you are. Reschedule that crap until next week. I need the car on Saturday. What the F is Blue Cruise anyway?

Me: It's the hands free driving software that Ford promised a couple of years ago. The car has all the hardware but the software wasn't ready. It's all done baking now and ready to come out of the oven.

Her: Nope. Ain't gonna happen. No way am I going to trust day old bread. My girlfriends and I have a busy weekend planned and I don't want to be stuck on the side of the road waiting for a tow. Who the hell thinks that driving without your hands on the steering wheel is a good idea? Whoever that is hasn't ever driven here in Phoenix with all the crazy drivers out there. People here don't just have minor fender benders. They crash NASCAR style and usually the yellow tape comes out and someone is riding home in a box. No thank you. Do it some other time.

So.....my appointment is now set for Monday the 11th.

I just dropped my red pony for this blue cruise update. The dealership told me it will take at least 8 hrs.
I still have not gotten my car. They started working on it on MOnday morning and the service agent called me MOnday evening and told me that they have finished 3 of the 5 updates. The remaining 2 updates will take at least 8 more hours. I am expecting to hear back from them tomorrow.

If I had to guess....it sounds like they are doing it correctly then. Even the Ford documentation gives a fairly wide range so that must mean it can take a while for some cars.
