OTAs make me nervous. Infotainment updates no problem. Updating the powertrain modules seems a lot more "mission critical" to me so I prefer those to be done manually by a real person who can read, follow directions and possibly identify when something isn't right. An automated process (like I presume the OTAs use) is really kinda scary to me.OTA is the preferred method. It is much quicker, although broken up over several updates, the longest one takes about an hour to apply. Dealer will likely need at least 2 days to get the car updated, and that's if everything works normally.
I think I pay attention to the road pretty well. I hope it doesn't bug me even when I am actually looking ahead. Is the nanny accurate? Does it only come on if the driver is looking elsewhere? You will. Even when you're not using BlueCruise, the eye nanny is added to the mix once the driver monitoring camera is updated.
