Seems like a lot of dealers just do the PCM (Powertrain Control, first 5 modules that run as a group), then think they are done, or that’s all they are willing to do. That’s what happened to me.
They couldn’t even get through the five, only managed three

Great news! My dealer did the new IPMA update yesterday and this morning I got this :)

I instantly got the email about it too; I haven't picked up the car yet, but it smells good!
Insist that your dealer road-test it before you pick it up to make sure hands-free works. I received that message but it turned out it wasn't actually activated on the server side despite receiving the FordPass message. Hopefully that bug is corrected now on their end.

I assume dealer needs to flip the switch or click the link to activate. :p

Did you just take that screen shot? Bluecruise just completely disappeared from ford.com for me

Asked my dealer. I did get the update from him and BC works great. Have not seen anything on website or app about it being "activated". Is there some type of notification dealer should do with Ford?

No. If BlueCruise works, i.e. you can drive handsfree on the BlueCruise roads, then you're all set. Don't worry about what a website says or doesn't say.

I guess I had the best-case scenario for attempt number 2 at the dealership. Got the notification this morning at 10:30am that my BlueCruise was active. It's now in Connected Services and just picked up the car and used it on the way home. Worked really well. Glad this saga is over.

Read all 72 pages of posts, and all I can say is: WHAT A MESS!!!

I had knee surgery March 21st, so I have not been able to drive for the last 6 weeks. Was released today by the doc to drive again. I was upset that the TSB 22-2117 update to get my car unstuck from Power Up 1.7.1 was released on March 22nd. But now I think I am glad I waited. TSB 22-2117 has been updated to TSB 22-2150. 21G01 for Blue Cruise has a miserable track record of successful installations. EA, non-EA seems to make a difference, which it shouldn't. FDRS software gets an update, and the service departments don't seem to be aware of them. Dealers' service departments seem to be either right on track to do this work, or just want to sell cars and tell the customers that they can't be fixed.

Tomorrow, I am going to stop by my dealer to see if they have successfully completed any of these updates. If they have done 22-2117 or 22-2150, I think I will have those done to at least get OTA working again. I will give it a few weeks to see how far the OTA updates get. If I get the latest Sync version 364 (or now 421??) and Power Up goes past 2.3.0, I will just let it do it OTA. If not, it will probably be June, and I will try my luck again at the dealership. According to the notice, 21G01 is in effect until September 30, 2022, so I have some time.

A few other things to note:

On the 21G01 notice, it lists MME affected vehicles with build dates of 02-24-2020 through 07-07-2021. Were they building MME's in February of 2020??? As I recall, you couldn't even convert a pre-order to an order for an MME until late June, 2020 and actual building of dealer and customer ordered cars didn't start until September/October of 2020.... My pre-order was placed on Jan 4, 2020, was converted to an order on June 30, 2020, was built on Feb 15, 2021 and delivered to me on March 30, 2021.

I logged in to my ford.com account and just for laughs did a search for Early Access. There was a link for Early Access enrollment. I clicked on it just to see what it would do. Right after I purchased my car I tried this and it said something like the program was full. But not yesterday! It said I was available to enroll and would I like to sign up? So I did. I have no idea now if my car will be in some Ford computer server update limbo which will require another 4-5 months of software updates to sync up with the rest of the fleet......

And finally, I read that the GUI for the Sync 4 vehicles is supposed to be fully updated sometime this year. I can hardly wait to see how smoothly that OTA update works through the Job-1, Job-2, 2022, and possibly the 2023 vehicles!!!!

Glad to be back driving!!!! I really like this car. Just wish Ford could get its act together in the software department. There were over 100 pages of problems in just one thread here for the 22-2117 TSB and now over 70 pages here for 21G01. This is simply unacceptable service from a company the size of Ford.

JMHO

I think Ford included all the pre-production vehicles in the bulletin. I assumed they would be destroyed by now but maybe not?

Got my pony back this afternoon...

Still have some pending modules that the dealership "swears" they installed... but had to leave and needed the car so just took it. (BIG THANKS TO @benk016, @generaltso and @mpshizzle for the FRDS assistance)

I've got Sync revision 421 and see blue cruise activation with a future date. Took it for a drive on the highway and low and behold... no hands on the wheel! Did have a few quirks... took a few car power cycles to get GPS working (showed an arrow with a question mark and wouldn't move) and SirusXM needed a radio refresh to be sent.

The odd thing though, is under Conneted Services, bluecruise completely disappeared. No prompt in fordpass about activation either. I called Ford and they said the dealership has to add the 1yr service under my account. Called the dealership and they thought I was speaking another language and said maybe it's a question for the sales team... Called Ford back and they refused to help me saying if the work was done at the dealership, they have to figure this all out.

Is this an issue if it's not in Connected Services...? Back door and I can keep it forever?? :)

side note, Ive noticed that enabling cruise control seems to be slower than it used to be. Previously it’d be very quick to get ā€œthe cloudā€ for adaptive cruise control. Now it seems like it takes a couple extra seconds… then it’ll switch to hands free after that

With me, Blue Cruise disappeared from Connected Services while the dealer had it and before I picked it up. It all worked on the drive home. The next morning I got a FordPass notification that it was active. Then, a few days later I got an email about it from Ford.

Ok cool. I’ll just be patient then

just got confused that Ford customer service told me the dealership had to do something… and the dealership had no clue what I was talking about
