When I asked my dealer about getting a second key, they quoted me the cost price of $510 for the fob and programming. :S It can't be that much more just to bring them into Canada, can it?

I'm really hoping @OlyPen was kidding about that part.
Sadly, I was not kidding about the physical key. BUT, the technician finally figured it out and all is well. And the service advisor was nice enough to say "we certainly won't charge you for this training exercise". LOL!

Man...So I received my second key fob with FCC ID: M3N-A2C93142300 , and it looks good except there is a ford log0 on the back and not a Pony.
Hmm! did this work? Curious why you bought a key with a mismatched FCC-ID. Really lowering your odds of success.

But yes Ford should not put owners in this sticky situation.

All's well that ends well I guess. At least it was free.

How exactly are these mismatched?

Ford seems to be changing their policy regarding Key Fobs. They are providing me a second programmed Key fob at no cost. I feuded with Ford for about three months about the deficiencies of PAAK. They finally resolved the issue by providing me a free second Key fob. By the way, I was also told that Ford will start providing two Fobs with Mach E's. May be worth looking into.

I wonder if they will give refunds for people that already bought a second one? ?

Until the same tech that goes into the FOB is installed on your cell phone, expect problems. Why not just carry the FOB like you are used to doing now? Problem solved. Eventually perhaps the PaaK issues will iron out.

If you bought it from a dealer maybe. I'd say no chance if you got it aftermarket.

For the $75 I paid, I don't think it's worth my time chasing Ford for a refund. If they start offering it thats great for the new comers as we can then close this thread? Folks still question if it works or why there are different part numbers. The last 2 letters of the part number would be the logo on the back or the layout of buttons. The exact part number of the original key is 15K601-FA and if one gets one with a different part number I guess it can give room for the dealer to balk at it.

Good Question
Yeah, between spending the time and money just to order the fob, I had a locksmith out to the house and went to two other locksmiths (two hours of my time with driving) - all three were unsuccessful. Spent ~15-20 minutes calling dealers to get price quotes, and then drove 30 minutes to and from the dealer, plus 30 minutes while there for the programming.

Total: $205 plus 3.75 hours of time. All for something that I think should have been included with the car. Love my car, but this aspect was a fail for me.

That would be awesome, is there any official statement from Ford about this? I can talk to my dealer but most of the dealers near me don't seem super informed on the Mach-E at this time. Would I have to go to the dealer I bought the car from or can I go to any dealer?
