I base that on the different part numbers listed in Technical Service Bulletin 23-2348 dated November 9, 2023 compared to the part numbers listed in the Safety Recall 23S56 notice to dealers dated December 18, 2023. TSB 23-2348 lists the old part numbers ending in -B, -C, and -D for the three relevant trims, and the dealer notice lists the new -C, -E, and -F versions. See attached.
Is the C the same as the old C, or is it some new and improved C?

For the GT, C replaces B. For the non-GTs, E replaces C, and F replaces D. Three different trims are affected by the recall with three different part numbers. We all truly hope these new parts are much improved, but only time will tell.

Just to be clear, when you mention the -C version of the HVBJB that you broke numerous times in your car, was it a Premium 4X and not a GT? The Premium 4x old part number was NK4Z-10C666-C (or -CRM); just want to clarify that is the -C version you are talking about.

I hope you are right that Ford incorporated your data in their design of all the new part numbers to be used in this recall.
Correct. I had the Premium Extended Range AWD.

Right, but what I meant was are these all totally new and different parts than the old ones? Or are they still the same actual parts just with a new lettering scale?

I was wondering if the C that I got as replacement a year ago is the same C that's going in GTs now.

I forgot to look at the prefix. That did change from one C to the other. Presumably that means it's a whole new part and not just a relabeling of the same part.

If so, I'm hoping I get the recall notice since I have the NK4Z-10C666-C.

Right, the new suffix letter represents a new version of the part. We know nothing about what has changed for any of the three part numbers, other than the suffix letter. As @MachE70 said, we hope that the parts are more suitable. Only time will tell. ?‍♂?

I will be shocked if these new parts fail in any noticeable quantity. If they do, there will be lawsuits galore.
But what seems to be fine with the NHTSA is if the vehicle just gives you Service Vehicle Soon and reduced power, but doesn't ultimately fail to drive at all. If Ford just aimed for that, then I think we will still be getting a fair amount of SVS repairs, which would still suck. I'm really hoping this part is truly "beefier" and this becomes a complete non-issue!

I suspect it will be solved entirely (outside of very rare occasions). Ford doesn't want to spend all of this money on new parts and repairs only to keep paying for this same repair after the fact.

Had my original one replaced at 16,000 km and just got another failure at 89,000 km on the highway home a few days ago…

At the dealership for repairs and they ordered the part yesterday. Hopefully that means it’s the new one, although I’m not sure if our Canadian inventory has been updated. I’m going to ask for the part number on Wednesday after they open again. I have a GT.

I should note that for whatever reason the recall doesn't come up for my VIN. It came up back in October and I got a paper letter but it mysteriously went away a week or two later.

I have an appointment on 1/4 with my dealer. I noted the recall and instructions when I made the appointment, sent their service manager the details and instructions to order the parts, left a voice mail and talked with a scheduler on the phone last evening reminding them of the reason and the need to order the parts.

Taking bets on if they will be prepared. Autonation Ford Littleton, CO.

While my car is getting the HVBJB swapped out, will the dealer apply everything that’s available and just sitting in FDRS for it too?

No. They'll only do the updates for the current field service actions on your vehicle. Not everything.
