Is this a “My Jump Pack is bigger your Jump Pack” thread, a “Red Classic Mustangs Rule” thread, or a “Ford stopped building Mustangs after 1967” thread? Choose 1. ;)

Bought a red 65 HIPO in 1964, white top and interior. Always regretted selling it.
"Always regretted selling it." Is there a car guy anywhere who hasn't said this at one time or another?

Since the amperage/wattage is low to activate the frunk release, would keeping one of these Li-ion battery packs hidden outside the car be helpful ?

The car is much better at managing the 12V battery state than when the MME was first launched.
Unless you have a dud, that LVB will last 3-4 years until it needs to be replaced.

I'm not sure having a jump pack around is going to be much use at all, especially if you are carrying it in your frunk or elsewhere in the vehicle.
If you do get one, it only has to be smallest possible 12V source because it really just needs enough power to close contacts activating the HVB. Not like an ICE car where a starter motor draws a huge amount of current all at once.
It is?! Could have fooled me. I always have to go for “update drives”

My concern with this is that it says it is an 11.1v battery. A "12v" battery has a lot of wiggle room on actual voltage and a "12v" battery. A fully topped off new "12v" battery is probably closer to 14v. A 12v battery that can only offer 11v is practically dead. As the voltage level drops, the amount of torque it can offer a motor also drops and this makes me wonder if It would be able to operate the electric release motor. I would look for something that can supply closer to 14 volts.

Also, once the battery opens the frunk, you want It to still have enough power to boot the modules needed to close the high-voltage battery contacts. I'm not sure how much power that would take.

Getting the answer to "how much battery is enough" to jump-start a Mach-E when you have a dead 12v battery would be a great topic for one of the many EV car reviewers..
