I swear Ford is using Commodore 64 processors in the car.

I think I can make a call to my friend in Japan to turn up his car volume in the time it takes the car to show the volume level indicator on the screen.

Agreed! Same with temperature/fan speed.

Good thing is it doesn't appear to lag functionally, just visually.

Now the lag opening the settings and being able to actually open the trunk is annoying af.

I’m so happy with my physical trunk button mod. I always get excited to go pick up the groceries so I can use it. ?

Give Ford some credit, I'm sure they're using at least an Amiga

Personally I just use my ears which work just fine so I really have no idea how fast the indicator responds.

It does lag functionality if you try to change the HVAC controls. For example the only way to turn off the fan is to press the fan button, wait 3-4 seconds for the pop up to appear on the screen and then turn down.

If you press the fan button then immediately rotate the dial, it will turn off the HVAC, then turn back ON when the screen finally updates, forcing you to again rotate the dial to turn it off.

Primary my only complaint about the car. But I'm the guy who builds gaming PCs, has 60+ connected devices on his mesh, streams music from his home server to his car via Plex, etc. I have high expectations from current technology.

Plenty of other cars have zippy, in car software, some are cheaper cars than the MME too. You could say Ford focused on the mechanical and cut costs on the tech side, but then don't make the primary interface with the car a GD touchscreen. I mean come on, how long has tablet technology been available.

In a dream world, the option to update the screens would be an option just speakers or tires.

Get in, start. Put on seat belt. Back out of garage. Close garage door. Drive down driveway, and adjust fan, etc. #FirstWorldProblems

Gives me a good chuckle. I use the + and - to change the temp. By the time I’m done pushing the button to the temp I want, the blue and red graphic comes up around the volume control. At that point I hear the Ford commercial guys voice in my head saying “Making your Mach E better over time”. LMFAO

EDIT: It kinda reminds me of the old dial up days. Be careful what button you click on, you may be in for a wait.

I'm not sure I have ever noticed the indicator for temp or volume appear as I just make the change and move on.

99% of the time I am in CarPlay and the speed of the infotainment system is irrelevant.

Thankfully with CarPlay and auto climate, have rarely needed to use the infotainment, but it is such a terrible system. I just got a survey from Ford asking us to review our one year ownership experience on the MME, and I had mostly positive things to say, which is accurate, because this car itself, as far as car things go, has been flawless. But when it got to the "what can we improve...", I spent most of the 2000 character limit absolutely thrashing the infotainment and general software portion of the car. It's the infected wound of an otherwise amazing vehicle.

I say that as someone that doesn't have most of the problems people on here complain about. Our profiles work fine, have never had the screen blank out on us or anything, it's just an awful system from a functional perspective. I owe a lot of it to the vertical orientation of the screen as my F-150 has the 12" horizontal oriented screen and Sync 4, and I find it far better to use day-to-day. But I have physical controls for HVAC and the radio, which I think is why.

I literally have to stop the vehicle to tap the car button and then the camera button when I am pulling into a spot as it takes so long to come up ?
