I just installed the new FDRS and got message that at some point “future” updates will require a minimum of 16 GB ram. Not a recommendation like now but a requirement.

I also installed the VCI update, it failed.

I hope this will not impact the use of my Mongoose Adapter since it has its own drivers.
The Mongoose uses its own driver's. No need for the VCI stuff in your case.

The problem wasn’t the drive being a SSD. It just needed to have the partition as MBR rather than GPT. That’s why my first try didn’t work. After I changed the partition to MBR and reformatted it worked fine. I still use that drive today.
Thanks. Easy enough to do. Now, if I can just remember where I put it. ;)

15 Feb 26 and I woke up this morning to a couple of new updates for my '23J1.

ACM and the DCDC converter.

As it's bucketting outside right now I probably won't get around to doing those two until tomorrow when the weather is expected to be a lot better. PTS says the size of the update for the DCDC converter is only 133kb big...so maybe it's just a settings tweak? It says the size of the ACM update is about 8mg. The last time I did an update to an ACM it was on my Lightning and that went so well the ACM update is still listed in my available updates list to this day, (I'm not alone, this happened to lots of others)....since I don't ever listen to the radio I wonder if it's even worth it to update.

Thanks Mike! Hopefully OTAs will start flowing again for older Mach-Es.
I’ve pretty much resigned myself to being retired from FDRS after my last belated round of updates in early fall (or so).

21 job 1.

Yeah, they really aren't pushing anything out anymore, are they?

Besides those two, I also got SOBDMB and SOBDMC updates.

Maybe the focus is on the updates hold and getting people caught up.

It took about 5 minutes for the ACM and it dropped off the list. 😊

The ACM deals with a lot more than just the AM/FM radio

On the non-B&O system it provides the amps for all 6 speakers

On the B&O system it has amps for the two tweeter and center dash speakers and sends all other audio channels digitally to the DSP

Provides sounds for all chimes, pedestrian alert system, seat belts, parking proximity sensors, cross traffic alert, collision warning and avoidance systems, liftgate close, etc.

Controls the speed volume settings

Includes satellite radio and FM antenna amplifiers

It is an integral part of the APIM. If the ACM completely fails, there will be no Sync Display.

I am helping a forum member and am having some issues getting my Mongoose adapter recognized.

The last time I used it FDRS was still using the long access key method and not the subscription method.

I have updated to the latest FDRS and am getting the following:

Clicking continue ultimately gets me:

Any ideas why my Mongoose cable is not seen?

Seems like everyone with a Mongoose is using an older version as they’ve experienced the same issue.

What version do I need to use? You mean FDRS, right? I am using 47.6.9.

I have tried a bunch of different versions I had in my downloads folder.

47.6.2, 46.5.8, 46.5.4.

I went as far back as 45.5.7 but that version does not work with the subscription method.

I also tried forscan and it connects fine to the car using the mongoose cable.

Any ideas?

I had uninstalled the VCI software and other than changing the dialog box to no longer offer up VCM II. VCMM, and VCM 3 as options, FDRS still refused to acknowledge that the Mongoose was connected.

I installed 46.5.4 again, the oldest version I had that supported the new subscription method, and it still complained that the connection failed.

To make sure the Mongoose had not crapped out, I fired up Forscan and it had no issue using the Mongoose to query all the modules.

It was after using Forscan and firing up FDRS once again that it suddenly worked.

So confusing.

I wonder now if it would work with a newer version but didn't want to rock the boat.
In the end I got the forum members car updated and my own.
