I must admit I keep looking at the GV60 and thinking, is this going to be my next car.
Genesis seem hell bent on customer service.
Not sure how soon next would be though.
The YouTube review I've seen says stick with the Ionic or Ev6 which it's based on.

Mine also is affected by the contactor recall and for good measure stuck 2.3.0(2.6.0) update. Booked in for end of July for both issues.
Will be interesting to see if the fix for the contactor recall is in place for the end of July. Going by Ford’s previous track
record I’m not optimistic.
Spoke to a dealer on Friday and have booked in for windscreen recall and software update next month.
Wasn’t able to book in for the latest recall as there’s no fix on their system and could be 2-3 months away…but it’s anyone’s guess at the moment?‍♂
Fingers crossed it’s sooner!

When I rang about the failed downloads they mentioned the contactor recall and booked me in when there was a courtesy car available which was the end of July. I'm making the generous assumption that they know that any necessary parts will be in for the end of July. Perhaps I'm being over-optimistic. In any case they said there's 60 Gigs of updates required which they'll do anyway so we'll see what happens.

You have an electrical fault due to water having penetrated into the one of the lights electrics.
If it was the whole unit that had stopped working then I would agree with you, but as it is only 2 elements out of the 6(and the indicators still work on those 2) then I suspect there is a different fault. Hopefully I will find out one way or the other on Thursday

Soooo, I've noticed that my brakes have gone back to being 'bitey' like when I first got the car, that sort of harsh braking (i'm sure there was a fix for that, but seems I've gone backwards!!). Also, in the Fordpass App, it used to show if I was charging with some details, now that's gone, anyone else had these problems?

Even though there has been a low reported rate of incidents all current Mach-Es have to potential to fail due to the contractor issue, they all have the same part and things connected to it. The thing that controls whether you ever see the failure is down to how you drive. The failure case seems to be that you just finish charging on a high power rapid and then accelerate away quickly, the connector will be hot from charging and then will get a heat load by the power going the other way.

mid you only ever charge at home and don’t routinely floor it then you may never see the issue.

regardless it’s a potential hazard so they have to declare the issue and say it could affect 100% of the cars. The OTA “fix” will not fix it, just reduce the power flow in and out of the battery, so slower charging at high power and lower acceleration. They’ve not said yet if this will just be in place until parts are available to replace the connectors. Which will never happen as a software update is way cheaper.
Hi Salty. Just read your informative logical account regarding the current contractor recall issue. I use home charging all of the time with no plans to use fast chargers, unless we go on the extended trips. My driving style and road conditions around where we live are not generally not suitable for accelerating to the fullest extent of the car. However, I did put my hand i my pocket for the GT, to have the ‘crazy’ acceleration of it ???‍? and not to act as a nursemaid to it. The talk of restricting the delivery of power, will really hack me off as the exception power delivery is what I bought and paid for. I sold my AWD ER, a great car, after 3 months, because the GT was built and delivered to the UK in a record 10weeks, rather than the anticipated 9months or longer…..Took delivery on 9th June and low and behold if I left it another week, I wouldn’t have been allowed to take it out the showroom?. I thank you for your crystal clear explanation, but Ford Motor Company cannot be allowed to change the performance of their cars, to suit their deficiencies in testing etc, prior to launch. I am hoping, like many, that my car is not one of those affected, but if it is I think we have grounds to seek recompense from Ford, as the best case scenario. After all, we don’t buy cars to nurse them, but to drive them. The last time I nursed cars were back in the 1970’s, which was because they were old nails?, not cars costing up to 70k.
Ford has fobbed me off with the generic rewrite of the script that has been circulating social media. I have responded back to them asking them a simple question: Why is my car deemed safe to drive, but if I wished to take delivery of it one week later, it isn’t safe?
We shall see if Ford responds with anything that resembles customer care?

Im so glad you’ve posted this. Mine has been the same but I thought I was going mad.

Gone from really smooth braking, and loving it, to nearly putting the wife through the windscreen!

Anyone any ideas?

Well they’ve had my car for almost a week now trying to do the update for the ‘stuck between 1.6-1.7’ update and they just can’t get it! Can anyone tell me the TSB/SSM for that fix so I can point them in the right direction?
