The problem with that theory is that you will weaken the HVBJB and then when you least expect it, boom, you’re screwed.

I guess I should just WOT every day past my Ford dealership And maybe I will be lucky that it breaks in their driveway.
I think that would be hilarious, imagining throngs of early build Mach-E's just wizzing by dealers all day long trying to get their box replaced ?

I am actually confused by this. Maybe it is my year and/or trim. I see 3 ways of opening the frunk. (1 click on Ford Pass, 2 clicks on car screen and a latch which you pull twice). Everyone works without fail. Similarly 2 ways to open the trunk 1 from screen and one from app. I do have other issue but not this one.
This is a job 1 issue. Has been documented in many threads. The electronic frunk release has not been enabled for Job 1 vehicles, some people have used FDRS to hack the car for partial functionality.

  • I fixed the omission of the power flow meter by mounting my iPhone running Car Scanner. It plots the battery charge/discharge current, speed, as well as motor torques, heater power, and other nerdy data.
  • -> This is cool. What App are you using for this?
  • I fixed the omission of a rearview camera mirror using an aftermarket dashcam. That gives a much better view and records front and back in 4K as a bonus.
  • -> Which model did you go with?
The iPhone app is called Car Scanner. And I use a $25 Bluetooth scanner plugged in the OBD port. The app needs the mach-e profile to get the signals. I spent a little time customizing the way the dials and the graphs.

The mirror is a kingslim 4K mirror dashcam. Currently it is $150 at Amazon: Kingslim DL12 Pro 4K Mirror Dash Cam, 12" Front and Rear View Camera for Cars with Dual Sony Sensor, GPS, Super Night Vision, Backup Camera and Parking Assistant https://a.co/d/4phtOgg
The rear view camera that comes with it sucks, but with this replacement it is dramatically better: Kingslim D6 Dash Cam Rear Camera - Upgrade D6 to 3 Channel 4K Dash Cam https://a.co/d/8tR6KJV

Hate the narrow stock tires (for me more of an aesthetic thing)
Hate the suspension
Hate that I can't see the charging rate anywhere in the car or in the app
Hate that Carplay always connects to my wife's phone when I'm driver and she's passenger
Hate the bare-bones and unreliable Ford Pass app
Dislike the GOM after the 3.6.2 update
Dislike the seat material in my Premium, worried about its longevity
Dislike the door buttons
Dislike every piece of piano black on interior and exterior
Dislike the performance of PAAK
Dislike the overall design of charging settings (location-specific, no default limit)
Dislike that Bluecruise hugs the right side of the lane

I would say that I hate the buggy headlight knob and profile settings, but they've actually been fairly stable for me over the last several weeks (in the midst of the 4.x updates). Maybe they're improved, I don't know yet.

Plenty of things that I love, but that's not what we're talking about here :)

Hate is too strong of a word, but my #1 annoyance is still the stiff, jarring ride on imperfect city roads, because it's an everyday thing. Modest annoyance once or twice, not so modest daily. If I could change one thing, that would be it.

That's not counting the HVBJB issue, which would be #1 if counting maintenance issues too.

It's a dream on smooth interstates, but noticeably stiff around town. Lower tire PSI helps a little. But only a little.

So I have to put 11,000 miles on my GT here are the following things that I wish Ford had thought through a little better.
In the video they talk about the charging door I think that's one of the cheesiest cheap pieces of junk I've ever seen on a vehicle. I always worry that for some reason that thing will just get ripped off or fly open while I'm driving. It's very flimsy and then you also have the little flip down in there that you have to remind yourself to hit and make sure it's up before you close the door.

2 hey, agree with the video the height of the car is a little bit deceiving and yes, both in the front and the back you have to be very cautious about pulling your vehicle in the parking lot and getting out next to a curb being a bit lower than most vehicles this is a concern as cities get less is most concerned with consistency and they're curving. You can end up with a lot of damage..

3 I've noticed some inconsistencies in church performance in the vehicle and this may be due to climate issues I'm not sure, but depending on the rectify America charger, I go to I get all kinds of different performance readings and times two certain charge levels I wish I could get some feedback from the screen on actually what's happening like this charger has been restricted to a certain performance, etc.

4. Suspension suspension on the vehicle is very strange anything over 50 miles an hour and if you drive on a wavy or bumpy road, the rear end of the car is all over the place. The spring rate seems to get really strange at about 50 miles an hour, almost to the point of da and it's supposed to be a GT handling becomes kind of unruly sure driving fast and straight is fine, but as soon as you hit a bump, one of the other rear wheels, even though independent suspension tends to pop up in the air. And yes, I've had it to the dealer and they said that the suspension is fine. If you research the videos, you also see that Ford Walle do ether testing you could see the rear wheel lifting off the ground constantly. This causes the rear end to lose control. They need to adjust that somehow and for those who wander yes I've traded in all three modes, and I don't notice much of a difference in any of them.

5. The lack of a button for the rear hatch in the cabin, my other cars all have this the idea that you have to go to a screen in order to do something as simple as a rear hatch opening or fumble about for the key fob is silly If they're gonna put one in the rear hatch, put one of the dashboard, you know muscle memory is important. If you come from a gas powered car, you should be used to some of the same features some Korean car manufactures still put the buttons and knobs which I enjoy don't get me wrong some of the updates for just recently did with the knob on the screen etc. really helped been able to make changes while you're driving when I crash in your car.

6. Hey, here's another thing that I found kind of interesting in my particular vehicle even though I have been to the dealer about it and had long discussions it's not a huge complaint but I noticed that I was thinking a GT vehicle that the rear powertrain would be a little bit more present but when it's an all wheel drive, it seems to be pulling with the front wheels, more aggressively which causes wheel spin. My GT gets a lot of wheel spin in the front wheels, and no the tires are in good shape

7. Brake feel I've noticed that when driving I get some weird behavior with the brake feel of the car. And I thought maybe that had something to do with the collision functionality like if I was getting too close to another car but I've also noticed happen. There was no other cars around the brake feel and functionality seems to be a variable that is strange even in the different drive modes it seems to exis where the brakes will grab suddenly and then it will break normally again this was to the dealer and they said everything was functioning correctly according to Ford and they said there was no damage on the brake pads etc. and I asked the dealer look at it four times that's just the way the car is.

8. Rear hatch alarm. The rear hatch alarm on the vehicle is not very loud and I don't know if there's an adjustment for that case in point my wife inadvertently hit the foot switch while she walked behind the car in the rear hatch popped open she didn't notice it said that she didn't hear the little bell when she pulled out of the garage and of course the hat was up in scratch the paint I got in the car and left the rear hatch up and noticed that in fact, the buzzer that let you know that your hatches up is very muffled. I don't know why that is.

9. Rear seatbelt design it seems an afterthought Ford has made a strange little clip in the back as an afterthought to keep the seatbelts from binding when you can use this drives me nuts because if I put the rear seats down, I'm always feeling about with this seatbelt guide that they put in as an afterthought, you would think that they would think little things like that through but they failed here

10. Charging stations I don't know if this is something related to the Ford Mach E using the electrify America charging stations I have found that one and three charge stations. Don't seem to work with the app. I still get issues with the FordPass app and using the credit seven provided me at the time of purchase and I don't know if it has something to do with the communications between the car and the charging station but I'll bet that's the case, I've also noticed this with EV go. I ended up getting a substantial credit because I had spent 45 minutes with them on the phone trying to get the car to charge and for whatever reason they couldn't reset it properly and none of their charging stations would work with my car so very very weird again. Some stations works find some doesn't. The good news is that I don't ever use the vehicle for any kind of long trips.

11. Front trunk seal the seal around the front truck near the camera and as well as around the whole front trunk area is piss poor there's always water in there and I've had the dealer look at it multiple times. It's been this way since I bought the vehicles every time I wash the vehicle I have to make sure that I wipe all that down as all that area around the edge of the front it's very wet and it also has caused a lot of scratches in the paint between the bumper cover where it connects and closes even though there's a nice rubber strip there the rubber strip seems to cause damage to the paint weird. Yes, it has been adjusted by the dealer to factory specifications and still causes this weird damage.

12. Plastics around rear hatch. There are a lot of different shapes and things to draw your eye in different locations in these plastics they put around the rear hatch, although they give the illusion of the vehicle having different lines and it really does to hide the fact that you get better rear seat room the way they've done it it makes it very hard for the vehicle to be cleaned in those areas you get a lot of water buildup.

13. Rotary knob to change gears. Yes, this is something that is mentioned in the video and I have to agree. It is the cheapest piece of crap on the vehicle. Yes I've noticed many other Fords also have this, but it always feels like it's going to fall off. It's not very tactile and it's very cheaply and poorly made for when I can t he would expect a better quality in a vehicle so expensive.

14. Door panels, the door panels all the very nice looking in their use of the speaker gril material is very difficult to maintain if you spell something on it, or gets water on it it stains very easily. And this is mainly in the area of the front door panels the gray area around the speaker covers. I wish Ford would've come up with a better material that was easier to clean than this fabric that looks like it could rip very easily.
15 . Finally, ordering process. Although I was an early adopter of this vehicle, and was very excited to audit the process in which ordering the vehicle was really quite bad they change the color, build exchange multiple times, which is understanding because it was during Covid chip shortages cause the vehicle to be stuck in a lot in Mexico, where rodents attacked it and caused damage that was not picked up by the dealer during delivery and of course, that ensued a big mess of who did what what needs to say my insurance company had to pay for it and I was out of pocket for several thousand dollars even with only a few weeks of ownership. Communication with Ford if that time was also very bad in many different ways, they would send you false information, etc.. Luckily I worked with a ethical dealer who did not mark up the price which was my saving grace there otherwise I would've bought the car will I ever buy another car order directly from Ford no that's one of the reasons why I did not want to buy a Tesla. I wanted to sit in the car that I wanted to take home not waiting for it to show up and then find all these problems later after you buy it right.

Although I'm certain these items are already covered in this new and already long thread, these are my hate items:

1. I hate the badly designed, badly implemented charging port door. It's needlessly big, and its inside edge can be forced into the car body panel, when open, by strong wind gusts or by an inattentive passerby. I gratefully depend on another forum member's 3D printed insert to prevent such damage... why?

2. I REALLY hate the chintzy Ford Corporate decisions to skimp on installation of already designed, already produced, pretty basic Ford parts across all the Mach E fleet, to wit:
- the front cargo ring mounting plates in the trunk (missing on North America Mach E models)
- the front bumper and rear bumper tow ring mounts (also missing on North America Mach E models).

What were the savings? ...and were these savings worth it for Ford? ...just sayin'...

yeah I have to agree with above that the charging door is laughable. (yeah cheap junk) Hard to believe it stays there for 2023. I try to ignore it, but it's close rate is one in four pushes, even in the sweet spot.

I can now add to my list after getting 4.2.2 just an hour ago

High Voltage Battery warning car may shut down without further warning
power train malfunction
and charge fault

hate when fears do come true
My theory is that they keep tweaking the parameters the software patch uses to throw up the warning. It would be a good way to manage the recall/replace process and volumes, at least.

No "hates" but I have a few improvements I'd like to see.
1. Inability to clear or reset radio presets.
2. Preconditioning on demand rather or in addition to than scheduled departures. (Maybe set a time limit in case you precondition too early.)
3. No rear window washer
4. "Drive mode unavailable" bug popping up randomly,

“Hate” is too strong a word, especially with such a complicated electronic control software. There’s a lot going on and, having been in tech/software my entire career, appreciate the challenges the coding team must deal with @Ford Motor Company getting it all working.

But I must admit being *very* frustrated with one thing specifically: Securialert.
  • I turn Securialert off. Every time it turns back on by itself randomly.
  • Approach the MME in my garage or anywhere else, unlock with my fob (hoping this will let the MME know it is me), and open driver’s door. THEN a notification comes (usually right away….sometimes 10 minutes later) letting me know my driver’s door just opened. Seriously?
  • Walk out to the vehicle with my phone as PaaK and open the hatch. I get a notification.
It’s sometimes laughable too when I have passengers and open the hatch to stow luggage and all four doors are open within moments. I THEN RECEIVE FIVE NOTIFICATIONS … EVEN AFTER I’VE FIRST UNLOCKED THE MME … THAT EACH DOOR HAS OPENED!!

Anyway, it’s the one thing that has irritated the crap out of me for months.
