*Ford’s Friends and Family Customer Service rep reached back out to me and I updated her on what Ford had communicated to the service supervisor at the dealership. As a courtesy for the in inconvenience they offered me an additional 2 years of coverage on the vehicle to go on top of 3 yrs/36k standard warranty. She is going to connect with her Mach-e team to see if she can find more information on an official fix(as well as if she can get me the 3D printed Mustang since I bought my FE off the lot, but that’s irrelevant to this thread)

Additionally, JSW in this thread has tried a temporary fix of inserting “a 3/16 rubber cord designed to withstand major heat/cold/vibration into the gap. It just disappeared into a “cavern“ beneath the windshield that I didn’t know existed. A “friction-mounted” large cell foam insulating tube should work.” He has ordered that and will update us on the results

*3rd UPDATE*

I heard back from the service rep at the dealership today. Ford apparently sent a notice that stated the wind noise is “an undesirable characteristic of the vehicle and no further attempts should be made” The service rep said in his view this means that Ford doesn’t want dealerships coming up with random solutions and that they are likely already working on a fix since it’s probably a wide scale issue. He said to check with him once a month and he will check the service channels to see if a fix is listed in the system. Additionally, he mentioned that it would help if Ford realized how widespread the issue is so that it might be beneficial for others experiencing the same issue to reach out to their dealership’s service team. I will be calling the Ford Friends and Family service case manager this afternoon with this information as well.

*2nd UPDATE*
Just heard back from the dealership service supervisor. Their glass company came out and evaluated the roof and there no found assembly defects. I was told that wind noise is coming from the step up from the windshield to the roof as I suspected as the painters tape got rid of the sounds. The service supervisor said that a Ford field engineer will have to come out and evaluate the vehicle in person. He said they could manufacture a seal across it that would work and look a lot better than the tape, but because it is so new they want Ford to look at it first and determine if it will be a larger fix(recall type of situation I’d imagine)

Very good experience so far all things considered. They are definitely a lot more attentive and quick with follow up since I’m one of the first with a Mach-e.

What’s disappointing is if it is truly that this just was never noticed in the testing cars/mules/etc before rolling out. Seems a rather large oversight from a cabin noise and also aerodynamics stand point. Will keep this updated when I hear more

*1st UPDATE*
I just went for a drive after putting painters tape over the divide and the noise was gone. Even took it to the highway and got up to 92, no noise. I am in contact with Ford’s friends and family customer service team so hopefully I will be able to find a solution and keep everyone posted

So I haven’t been able to find too much information after lots of searching various forums so thought I would start this post. I was curious to see what other owners have noticed regarding the amount of wind noise coming from the front of the panoramic roof. I notice around 35 mph(radio off) that I start hearing wind noise from the roof. At 80 mph on the highway you definitely notice it. I’m wondering if this is the standard across all MMEs currently out there or is there potentially a bad seal on mine. It is tough to see in the stock photos I looked at online but here is the bit of a step up on my windshield where it meets the roof. Normal or need to get looked at?

I don't have my car yet, but in my opinion, it had better not be normal!
To be clear, it is not deal breaker levels of wind noise, but on surface streets with the radio off I was thinking I would hardly hear anything since there is no ICE to hear as well as a quieter highway ride

I think my next step would be to drive a different car at the dealer for comparison - hopefully they have one.

Mine has a small step up. Maybe half the depth of my finger. But I don’t notice any wind noise.

It’s hard to tell in your picture but it looks like the side bars on the roof are a bit higher than the glass, where as my glass is a little higher than the side bars.

I'm no engineer but that seems like a pretty dumb design (if that is indeed the way it is designed). Why would you have the glass roof stick up and create an obvious wind catching (noise creating) area instead of having the glass roof slip under the front windshield?? Seems like that would be way more aerodynamic.

I haven’t had the chance to drive mine too much yet, but I didn’t notice any excessive noise at 35 mph.

At 90mph, I was shocked at how quiet the Mach E was. It was a little bit jarring, most cars the wind noise starts to build around the windows, so for the driver, the most prominent wind noise comes from the left, at least based on my personal experience.

Because the windows were very quiet, the wind noise seemed to be coming from elsewhere, or from all around. I have to spend more time with it to see where exactly. Anyway, it’s definitely possible that the sunroof is the ‘weakest link’ with keeping noise out, but I definitely did not notice this at 35mph, only around 90mph for what it’s worth.

If your MME is noisy at 35mph I agree it’s worth having it checked out.

Easy test is 3” blue masking tape over the edge. But I would guess that edge is not the source of whatever noise you hear. Good luck :)

When I went on my demo ride I noticed more wind noise than I was hoping to hear. I wonder if there is something to your concerns. I would suggest talking to the dealer about riding in their demo to see if it sounds similar.

I'm going to add this to the list of things to pay attention to on my test drive.

The black trim that runs down the length of the car starts out just barely higher than the glass. By the time it gets back to the B pillar the black trim is significantly higher than the glass.

Looking from the passenger side towards the driver’s side.

Yeah that gives a much better view. It does appear that my glass roof is sitting a bit higher up than what I see from yours. That could well be the issue. Now, is that a serviceable/fixable problem is a different story. If I can find another MME to test drive I can compare that way. Might be a while for that to happen though so thought some of the other owners sharing their experiences here would be helpful

Not a bad idea. There is no air coming through so it’s definitely sealed, but it could very well be that it’s just not as aerodynamic if it’s sitting up higher than intended
