Actually, that rate is for YOU, these comparisons are great and all but we are different and therefore we all have different rates. Some companies right now, may have the MachE in their rating platform to provide rates for it, some may not because it is a new model and just released. Once the year progresses and there is more data on the MachE then the ratings for it will become more accurate over time.

My insurance quotes are crazy inconsistent. I didn't quote the MME as a standalone policy - these are 6mo prices for the MME plus my two current vehicles (I'm keeping both), $750 comp and collision deductibles for all, 100/300/100 coverage, basic PIP and UIM coverages, and roadside assist (except for the MME, because Ford Roadside Assist is included!)

GEICO (current): $962 (had to call a rep bc the MME still isn't an option for online quotes)
Progressive: $696
Allstate (which has my homeowner's): $1,240

I think the Progressive quote is a hell of a bargain.
Wow, my Geico quote was the exact same as yours lol. I'd like it to be a little lower, but a lot of other stuff going on and haven't gotten around to it. Has anyone gotten a wow from the Ford insurance that pops up every time I sign into the Ford pass app? Started the process in the app, but it makes me call to get the quote and I generally seem to look into it during the evenings.

i haven’t tried it, but I highly doubt Ford started its own insurance co? Which insurer is providing it?

Update: It’s Nationwide.

Don’t take the roadside assistance, the car comes with a complimentary service for 3 years. It’s in the owners guide.

My insurance agent came back with the best quote being Progressive. The cost includes my other vehicles. Will see if I can get the breakout for the Mach E specifically.

Your insurance agent included Progressive? Wow. Be aware that Progressive includes a “new customer discount” that drops off after the first six months. When I asked the CR how much it was, she said “not sure but I’ve heard it is significant.” It’s really kind of a bait and switch tactic designed to lure in new customers. At least DirecTV is honest about the discounts that will drop off (but maybe they have to be because of the longer contracts).

I cringe when I see coverage less than 100/300/100.
This should be the base coverage you get today.

could you explain why?
I’m genuinely curious, I only been living in this country for a few years and this seems like a lot of money to anticipate to need to cover for.

Liability coverage should be based on YOUR liquid asset amount, injury lawyers do not care what you did behind a wheel..they only care about how much money you have. Make sure you carry enough to protect yourself.

My Farmers policy went up $500 every 6 months from my 2020 Volvo xc60m Polestar. Seems like they see the word Mustang, and then rate these like a muscle car. They also see possible battery damage as through the roof cost..
Geico quote was much less but my college age son's portion was double on Geico. So it's a now win.

For geographical context, I'm in the East Bay of San Francisco.

A few weeks ago I did some quotes just to get a feel for what I expected. Today I started in real earnest with getting a quote from AAA (currently insured with). AAA was $100+/month from previous quotes!

When I re-did the others I had, their costs bumped up higher. AAA is the average for me at $209/month for 100/300/100 coverage. Will finish up tomorrow with shopping, but I may end up sticking with AAA as there's no big advantage in switching.

I feel like the lack of official NHTSA and/or IIHS safety reports for the Mach-E contribute to this. As for my prior quotes, maybe the car was still "another Mustang" and not "new car on new platform" in the systems.

I just got the same from AAA, $110/mo increase over my 2018 Honda Accord. One more way it's not a Tesla, in all the right ways.
