The press-to-close method doesn’t work on mine, though I’ve only had the car a few days. Both my husband and I tried that method several times last night and couldn’t get it to work. I ended up slamming that sucker down so hard my husband laughed said he was glad I did it and not him, since he didn’t want to mess up my new car.

So all you need to do is connect the Ford Pass app. The remote frunk release is right in there. I’d imagine they will add a button to the UI in the car too. Hell it may already be there like the app button.
No, there is no frunk release button in FordPass yet. That’s coming with the same
mythical “BlueCruise” update ????

I prioritize using the frunk because it’s so much easier to pull the lever when I get out of the car than flailing my leg like an idiot trying to get the trunk to open.
You know there‘s a button on the tailgate to open it, right?

That’s not true for Job 2 vehicles.

You people with your fancy-schmancy second row of buttons in the FP app. Some of us only have one button in the second row. ??‍♂? And yes, I have PaaK set up and it's working fine to get me into/out of the car, start the car, etc. It's the FP app that thinks I don't have PaaK set up. ??‍♂?

FordPass Support has been entertainingly ineffectual regarding this. They even cost me time at work and the price of a cab ride home and back to work because even though I told the support guy three times that I was using PaaK and did not have the physical key anywhere near me, he insisted I delete the PaaK I was using. So, as of right now, the only way to open the frunk lid from the outside of the car is to enter my unlock code on the B-pillar keyboard and then hit the 7-8 button. ??‍♂?

There's a lever at the driver's side footwell like any other car. Remote opening from outside the car is the issue.
Except you must open the door to pull the lever. I can open the hood on other vehicles without opening the car door.

This is because you can release the secondary catch with the lever inside the car (2 pulls to open). On a modern ICE car, you have to get out of the car and release the secondary catch from outside the car. It's Ford's way of ensuring that the car isn't in motion when the secondary catch is released. ??‍♂?

Yes, yes, yes. I know I own the left-handed step child that Ford is trying to abandon at a Tesla dealership. Ford’s attitude about the early Mustang Mach Es (and their owners) seems to be “if we pretend they don’t exist, maybe they’ll give up and be quiet.”

Would've been a lot more useful if it had power-open feature. I would've happily paid $500-$1000 more if that was an option. Wife spent 5 minutes trying to close it in a parking lot this morning. All the slamming is just going to whack the headlight aiming out of alignment.

Plenty of space in there. Would've been nice to have access to it without so much hassle.
I believe that the Frunk is designed for safety purposes. Anyone that has had their hood open at highway speeds will agree. My 1960 Falcon did that at 55 mph and it was a shocking experience, lol. Did in my windshield so I had to go to the auto recycler for one. My local Ford dealer actually had a new gasket in stock (1985ish). It has a double release latch for that reason. As for closing, it took me a couple of times, but it closes easy once you learn how to do it. Press firmly in the right place and boom!

That’s got to be scary. I have never had that happen with a forward-opening hood. I had it happen once with a rear-opening hood and it was not a big deal since air pressure and gravity hold it closed once it’s open far enough to bleed off under-hood pressure. I have seen it happen enough on hood pinned race cars to never want to experience it myself. ??

Off topic (but what else is new around here), but your story is a warning to Mach-e aficionados that if something you’re being told just doesn’t sound right, don’t do it. Even when it’s coming from Ford Customer Service.

Yeah, I had to take a couple of hours off work and pay for a cab ride home. The guy on the phone was weirdly insistent, even after I told him for the third time that I didn’t have a physical key. ??

Well that seems like a firmware & App update? No? Because I definitely have Frunk button.

Do you not have this in the App?
