my dealer wants to charge $65 for the 10,000 service, which really is tire rotation and looking at a few things, but not doing anything about it. If i have a tire shop rotate the tires for $20 does that void the warranty since they have not checked things?
No, you do not void the warranty if ANYONE REPAIRS ANYTHING.

You only void the warranty if something fails, and Ford can tie it back to work that was done improperly, or modifications made to the vehicle.

I've not had a car dealer rotate my tires since 2007 when we moved back into @Discount Tire's area and they do it for free.

I would suggest finding another dealer....I can't comment on warranty, but there is value to have them check/update software.
They won't be checking or updating anything software-wise. They will look for recalls. They will respond to customer complaints, and see if there is a service bulletin that addresses it. But they will not update your car just because you'd like it updated.

I just had the vehicle in for warranty windsheild and panoramic roof repair. They updated all the software.
So just took the car to my local tire store and they rotated the tires for free. They said you will come back when you need tires. Do not really need the dealer to check levels and brakes at 10,000 miles!
Just to be clear, they likely didn't update all the software. They probably did 21P22 which is an update to cars produced in the first half of last year that updates 12 or so modules. That is not all the software though.

Hello AZBill, how did you pay with the ford pass points. I have the points but my dealer does Not know to use those and enter it in his system instead of taking money from me
This is mindblowing.

FordPass points have existed for a long time. Every single car sold by the dealership earns them. For a dealer to say they don't know how to redeem them is simply absurd.

I would trust the dealer is telling the truth but verify if they actually did it. I took my car in just for software updates and they updated everything - confirmed. In my case, however, I provided a list of software module updates needed per FDRS, so that might have helped.

My dealer gives a free oil change with all new ICE sales and so proactively offered to cover the first two MME intervals instead. Not a big deal but a nice gesture.
Very nice!

Ford Mustang Mach-E Anyone had 10,000 mile service performed? images (2)

When I did my 10K mile service my dealer checked the Ford software on their terminal/computer to tell me I had two open recalls. That brought value to me as a customer...I had the two recalls done (CSP 21P22 and 21B36) and that's what I was trying to convey to the OP.

Why doesn't the Owner's Manual say anything about balancing the tires at the 10k service?
Well, no owner's manual says that.

Many don't ever rebalance. I do every rotation.

I'm at a shade under 10k - will probably reach end of this month or early next month. I took my car to the dealer a couple of weeks ago for an unrelated issue and in the service report they did a multi point inspection. Should I even bother going back for the 10k service?

Any idea how long the 10k service takes? Assuming they start on time (An hour? All day?)

If you need a tire rotation you can have them do it. If I were you I would not go back.
