The recall software is now available, ahead of schedule. The software will be available at dealers now and as an OTA later. You can wait for the OTA in late July/August if you don't want to go to the dealer. Also available in FDRS for self-updaters.

June 30th Update: It appears this recall software is anti-brick in nature only, it may not prevent HVBJB failure. It will show a warning message "Service vehicle soon" and allow you drive to the dealer with reduced power (est. 33%) instead of being stranded and needing a tow if a HVBJB contactor fault is detected. There is no observed performance impact until a fault is detected (based on reports so far). I do recommend everyone get this software so you are not completely stranded if your HVBJB does fail.

This is a software update, no parts are required.

A big thanks to the engineers that got this out early! 👏🎉

So just no mention at all on needing to replace parts? Interesting, I thought GTs were at least for sure having to get new parts. I wonder if there will be a TSB out for the stop safely now message or whatever other warning that is going to pop up if these updates work as intended and tell the driver they're about to have an issue.

Any idea how long it will take the dealer to do the install? I apologize if thew information is in the documents. I didn't see it.

Good news. That means I’ll get mine Friday when my car goes in for a BlueCruise issue. Every time my car is serviced, they install any available updates.

Thats just what all the armchair experts on here were saying. Pretty sure nothing from Ford ever said anyone was getting new parts.

Well the original notice said software and/or parts, so the speculation was more than fair that GTs would be the ones to get both software and parts.

One step at a time. Ford probably wants to see GTs on the road with this fix to see if it works or not.

I'm happy to be out of recall jail... for now.

Kudos to Ford. Hopefully the OTA update is very soon.
