Well unless you're still rockin' an older Sync version that doesn't allow that.

There are some cars still out there....never been updated.....

Mike
Yeah, I don't have an option for that - 1 day a week allowed only (have tried several times). November 2021 built GT.

Edit - no OTAs to date other than map updates.

Can you schedule it for every night at 1 am. I think I tried that but only let me set one night

Have to recheck when I get home
2021 Job 1 cars that got an update to enable multi-day scheduling to make the BlueCruise update easier. Late 2021s don’t have that yet. Not sure about 2022s.

I have a great idea! Hey Ford, why not actually make "Check For Updates" live like every other electronic industry does? Geeze...
Discussed many times. Currently, they are not setup to provide OTA updates on request, they have to be queued up for specific configurations.

I did have an appointment for tomorrow morning to have this installed but now I think I will cancel that appointment and wait for the OTA.

It’s less about a check, and more about the enable. Updates are rolled out in waves based on trim popularity. So even if there was a check for updates button, your car may not have had the update enabled yet. So checking would result in nothing. Once an update is enabled for your car the next time you go driving it should check and start to pull it in.

What I do find odd about this OTA is that there was no early access testing before it started rolling out to average users. I would think they would’ve tested it on a few early access cars just to make sure.

In general I agree - but that is very bad from a user experience point of view. If you click a button and it says nothing is available, you know you have to wait. Without the button, you don't know if you have anything available or if your car just didn't ask for some reason. You are left in the dark.

Question: If you remote start your car, would that qualify enough for it to check? and would it top off the LVB?

Oh I know. The frustrating part is they added an “Update Now” button, but that just installs the update that has already downloaded. It doesn’t check for a new one.

I would think so. If it’s like the dealer update then it involves a powertrain upstate, which can’t be done while driving.
