My salesman told me that Ford eliminated the option to pay the balloon payment at the end of the term since Ford did away with that on EV's. He said they take the vehicle then so didn't recommend it versus traditional financing. I vaguely remember an article on here discussing that, but I wasn't sure.

Their website says very differently. Id questions your salesperson. Sounds like they are trying to steer you with inaccurate info

That is inaccurate btw. Ford Options is not a lease (where they did eliminate the option to buy at the end) but a financed purchase. You own the vehicle and owe the balloon payment at the end - or if you don't pay, Ford gets the vehicle back. You can finance through another bank for the balloon payment or Ford again or pay cash for the balance. They can't "take" the vehicle unless you default on the terms. @MeIIo What part of GA are you in? I'm in the 9/19 build week and can give you a little insight on the timing I've experienced being half an hour south of the Atlanta airport. You'll probably end up like me - see below. No easy way to track it once it's on either of the 2 transport trucks, unfortunately. There are several posts out, including one I did in my build group, that has tracking info for the trains once it gets to that point.

9/22 Into production
9/24 Built
9/28 Shipped via rail - Mexico
10/3 Arrived Laredo, TX
10/10 Arrived Internati, MO (main rail yard)
10/11 Arrived Richards-Gebaur, MO
10/13 Shipped Convoy truck (to the next rail yard)
10/16 Shipped rail car on Norfolk Southern (currently passing through IL)
(From NS to another Convoy truck to dealership happens next)
10/20 - 10/26 delivery window

Also, no use in hitting activate in the app, it won't do anything.

For most cases, yes, unless your final destination is too close for train. Seeing that you're in PA, I'm pretty sure you will get a new one from everything I've been seeing so far. So, you'll have your first one that is for Mexico -> Kansas City, then it goes on a truck after Richards-Gebaur, MO to get to whatever line is going to your area. When it leaves there, you'll have a new status on the VVR/with chat and a new rail car number that'll get it close to your area before going on a truck to your dealership. No way to track it on the trucks, but you can call the automated lines for most of the railroad companies. There are several posts with the info. I made one in my 9/19 build week thread just to make it easier to find for my group.

"I see that the status of your vehicle order is "Arrived at Junction Point". This means the railcar/vehicle has arrived at a 'hand-off' location and is awaiting pick-up by the next rail carrier. Your ETA is Nov-09-2022-Nov-15-2022."

When queried about which junction point...

"For some reason that information is not displayed as of yet. However, I do see that your vehicle is located in Laredo, TX."

Agreed, most of the responses I’ve seen look around 4-6 weeks assuming if there are no delays.

It looks that way for sure. In fact the sales manager at my dealer said I should be getting it mid December despite what Ford is telling you. It is mind boggling that it takes 2 months to ship a car from Mexico to anywhere in US. What would happen if Ford had to ship them from Europe?

I think they have a good product but their processing of orders from start to finish is a joke. I know I am beating a dead horse lol.

Honestly, I think its ones of those situations where YMMV. I seen 9/26 build week getting deliveries already, and they are only 1 week ahead of us. I guess it just depends on how workers at railroads feel when they get your batch of shipments lol.

Same here, shipped 10/10. Currently at Laredo TX as of 10/15 & 10/20.

Not sure why it's stuck there

I hope they put this on a truck all the way to destination state. That would be faster
