So - a month in, some random thoughts.

  • Overall, the car has been great other than the random "Power Train Malfunction" warning that cleared after a few restarts. Dealer was unable to reproduce it/find anything wrong and just updated a few modules.
  • Why in the hell does it keep going to my husband's profile? I drive the car 99% of the time and I get in the car with both my PAAK and fob that are linked to my profile and it will STILL randomly start up on his profile.
  • Also, why does the departure time feature not work reliably? (I want to say it's maybe 50% of the time)
  • The HF Blue Cruise and adaptive cruise control are both pretty sweet. I tried out the HF Blue Cruise in city rush hour interstate traffic and thought it worked exceptionally well. Now if only they would push out the automatic lane change feature to the '22s.
  • Ford Pass for charging has worked well for me at 3 Electrify America chargers and one EV Go. I didn't realize that I couldn't use my free charge credit at EV Go but the price using the Ford Pass was substantially cheaper than the regular EV Go price ($14 for ~43 kWh vs $24).
  • Fast charging has been disappointing. Fastest speed I've hit was 83 kWh (briefly). Mostly in the 60-70 kWh range. All charges have been at stations that allegedly are capable of 150 kWh or greater. I have the GT ER, which is supposed to be able to charge at rates up to 150 kWh. That being said, maybe it's the charging stations as the speeds I get are typical of what other people say they are getting? Or the cold weather?
  • Cold weather range bites. Yes, yes. I knew that ahead of time, but the cold weather + interstate speeds on a longer trip are brutal, with a range of around 160 miles at 100% charge.
  • I like the new updates. I think I like the interface updates 4.1.2, although I don't find the ability to use the volume knob to adjust temp to be as nice as I'd hoped. I dislike that after the 4.1.1 update, the car defaulted to charging to 100% and it was a pain in the ass to change back.
1 it’s common issue with MME that it’s better check settings after every update.
2. Fast charging speed is not good as advertised. I own MMEs for a year, the best I saw in the summer 110-115 for more than 5-10 minutes.60-90 most of the time.
3. I think the best 2 features of 4.1.2 interface are camera on top and one pedal with auto hold on same screen

I think what we are missing is dedicated preconditioning option/button.

Got the new UI. Really slick, better layout as it's more intuitive and send to run faster. Very nice.

Still on 3.6.1 but have the same issues you listed in bullet 2, with the car switching seats to my wife's profile even when she is not near it.

Maybe Ford is letting me know that Wife's are omnipresent ?

I’ve found that these updates only download over cellular so I ended up turning off wifi and running the car 15 min 2x a day these past 3 days (due to the ice storm)

Got 4.1.2 a couple of days ago as well. This is a huge change from before in performance not necessarily in features. CarPlay has been super reliable and I feel like PAAK is working much better. I hope they keep getting it better. The icons and buttons remind me of the old Tesla UI. I think there is lots of room for improvement here but this is a good start.

That didn't work the first time. I did it 3-4times and it started working. It is very inconsistent, it can go for days without a problem and then it stops working. I am not sure what they do different from other car companies that use wireless CarPlay! I hear it works flawlessly in other cars.
This is our second mme, and I have found over the last 2 years that apple updates impact the connectivity. A hard restart (not just power off/on) on an iPhone and the sync restart does the trick for us. Sometimes just the phone hard restart fixes it. Sometimes just a phone power off/on fixes it.

Got 3.6.2 a couple of days ago and 4.1.1 today.

On another topic - what kind of speed are you guys getting at DC fast chargers? I stopped at one for the first time today and got max of 83 kWh. In theory, with the ER GT, it should be a little faster than that?
Usually faster when it’s over 60°. Usually hovers 100-120 and decreases over time on a charge.

Was away for 15 days, left the car in the garage, charged at 79% came back and the car had switched to Deep sleep mode and the battery was still at 79% PA cold temps didn't seem to bother it.

Got the 3.6.2 update yesterday morning.

I have had 4.1.2 now for a couple of weeks and I am very happy. The biggest problem I had with this car was CarPlay and for me it has been fixed. It has been 100% reliable since the first day I got the update. Three thing I wish for now and I will be very satisfied with this car.
1. Blue cruise to be smoother in stop and go traffic.
2. When the car is put on park the e brake is automatically applied. I hate the rollback bounce when you are uphill or down hill.
3. Have the option of not using the start button.

@Ford Motor Company is this too much to ask for?

Has anyone filed their 2022 taxes and were you able to claim the EV tax credit for $7500?

I'm afraid I may have misunderstood the rules . I most likely will not have much tax liability since my employer is deducting taxes correctly from my paycheck ..
Looking at the tax laws after Aug 16th, you can only use the 7500$ to cover any tax liabilities.. whereas previously it was a straight up credit...
Anyone have a similar situation or familiar with the tax code?
