Looking to replace OEM tires on my 2022 AWD ER MME. I drive about 6K miles a year, mix of local and highway. My priorities in rough order would be all-season handling/safety, comfort, low noise. I don't drive very aggressively so although dry handling/sportiness is a nice feature, I don't want to trade off handling in rain or light snow. I realize I might take a small hit on range, but that's ok.

The two tires I highlight in the title are ones that I've read good things about here, so would love to get a sense of how they compare in the categories I mention. I looked at TireRack.com but they seem to be in different categories so hard to directly compare. Also, the DWS 06+ doesn't come in 225/55/19 which is what my OEM current tires are, so I would need to figure out which alternative size would be acceptable if I choose those. Open to suggestions/thoughts here.

You generally go at least +1 depending on clearance, but I don't think that will be an issue unless you change rims. These tires are so close, I see comments back and forth on them. Generally speaking the Michelins seem slightly better, but I don't know if you would even notice.

Didn't get much in the way of replies to this thread but after more reading decided on the CrossClimate 2's. Getting them installed in a few days.

Please post back on how things went with the purchase, mounting, etc and how the tires compare to your OEMs. I’m going to be getting tires soon as well. Are you buying from Costco in Union NJ?

The CC2 is probably going to be a better winter tire for you. The DWS06+ is an all-season UHP tire, so it is very grippy but snow performance isn't as good as the CC2. Since all-out performance isn’t your goal I think you went with the right solution for you. ??

I personally didn’t like the DWS 06 on my car. Big range hit. I went with Michelin pilots this time and my range, mi/kw is close to what i got with my OEMs. I have heard great things on the CCWs

I’ve had both and I think the CC2 is the better choice for an all around tire. Not quite as sporty in dry weather, but quieter, more comfortable, and better in rain and snow. I also found the lack of sidewall protection on the DWS06 Plus made them very prone to damage, I lost two to sidewall cuts. Bad luck? Maybe, but the tread and rim lip offer little to take a hit before the sidewall gets it.

Be curious how the efficiency is with the CC2s. I just put those on my wife's cross trek and my mach-e will need new tires next year. Really want them unless it drops my efficiency a bunch.

Not sure if you saw my post in my other thread but getting them from a dealer near me for reasons explained there.

As Steve (HuntingPudel) said earlier, I think you made the right decision going with the CC2's and he runs DWS06+'s!! Doesn't sound like you're concerned about the handling of the tire as much as wet and snow performance. The CC2's excel in the snow. I have the winter version of the CC2 (Pilot Alpin 5) and they are amazing in the snow.

6000 on m CC, compared to the Continental I love the Michelin. They’re quiet they ride smooth and they handle great and bad weather and I don’t lose that much mileage, matter fact ready to take him in to get rotated front rear, but they don’t even look like they’re wore at all.

I'm going with Cross Climate 2s as well for my 2023 GTPE, since we get cold weather here in NJ. Put up a separate post to see if any NJ GT owners want to buy my P Zero Summer OEMs (2,400 miles) for cheap. If not, guess I'll have Costco scrap them.

Thanks to all for the responses, which I found reassuring. I had a chance to drive my old Audi this past weekend for a couple of hour plus rides and was happy with the handling—it has fairly new CrossClimates. I hadn’t really had a chance to drive that car all that much recently.

I don’t really carefully measure my efficiency these days so may not know if I take a hit with these tires. Given that I rarely need to travel long distances and if I do I can use the Tesla adapter for fast charging, I just don’t worry about range/efficiency now.

As I mentioned in a different thread I did consider getting these through TireRack and having them installed at a shop near me, and also thought about Costco since I’ve purchased all of my tires from them for other cars for the past 20 years. After talking to my local Costco and a local tire place I wasn’t too confident that they would be able to jack the car up using the correct jack points (Costco asked me to bring the rubber pucks I have). I was able to negotiate a very good price from a local dealer and get 2 years of free rotations. I was also able to use over $300 of FordPass points which in the end made it a very good deal.

I did the Vredetein Quatrac Pro+ it's available in the 225/55/19 103v XL, 245/50/19 105v XL, 225/60/18 104 XL, and 245/45/20 103xl and the perfect tire for the MME. Smooth, quiet, better traction than the CC2 and handles like the DWS. They also are not directional so you can 4 tire rotate. The new + version has not been road tested by TR but should be very good.

They are about 2% less efficient the the primacy probably more efficient that the Pirellis summers on the GTPE
