I'm thinking of swapping my tires for another one in the Michelin lineup, as it seems they offer 60 days to do so.

Any advice on which to choose? Maybe the OEM all-season ones that come on the GT? Looking for decent all-season performance, but primarily interested in low road noise / comfort.

I bought these same tires 2 days ago. I have not experienced any vibration at any speed. My commute is 26 miles each way and I drive back road to highway to back road. I had Town Fair Tire install them. Initially the tires were underinflated by almost 5psi each. They still ran very quiet and smooth. Town Fair Tire staff were very gracious and promptly brought the tires up to recommended pressure the next day. I still don't notice any issues. You may just have a defective tire.

This weekend we're driving an hour north so I'll be watching for any issues like you've had. Thanks for bringing this up!

Follow up, 10/24/24: After daily commute of 27 miles each way and an hour's drive up and back, I haven't had any issues with the new Michelins. They are actually quieter than the stock tires. I haven't noticed much impact on range.

Thanks @Red Hawk - I think it may either be a balance issue or bad tire. Will press my Dealer to address the issue ASAP.

I'm also considering taking advantage of the Michelin Guarantee and the
Michelin Pilot Sport All Season gets good reviews.

Has anyone driven both the Pilot Sport All Season and the Cross Climate 2's?

Opinions / review welcome!

I had Cross Climate 2s put on a litter over a week ago. As I type this, I just got back from a drive that involved highway. No vibrations. In fact, the CC2'S are buttery smooth and corner better than the stock. I also, I went up in size to 235/55R/19s.

Here is my opinion... They are two totally different tires. The Pilot Sport All Season 4 is an ultra high performance all season that is often called a 3 season tire since it is not all that great in the snow. It is however one of the best performing all season tires on the market for sure but is not the quietest or smoothest riding either. The CrossClimate 2 is a grand touring all season and it's low point is the handling but it excels in the snow compared to the Pilot Sport AS and is quieter with a smoother ride.

I know you want to stay with Michelin so you can take advantage of of their Michelin Guarantee but if you wanted a smooth, quiet ultra high performance all season, the Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus ELECT would be the tire to go with. It is almost as good in performance as the Michelin Pilot Sport AS but is smoother riding, quieter (also has acoustic foam inside) and is an EV specific tire so low rolling resistance. Mach-Lee as well as many others on this forum run these tires and love them.

Back to Michelin, you can also get the Primacy Tour A/S which is a grand touring all season. In your size (245/45/20) it happens to be a Genisus specific tire tuned for a smooth ride and quieter than the generic Primacy as it has the acoustic foam inside.

I now have these. They do like to grab the grooved concrete but have been much better than the Conti RX's ride and noise wise, performance goes to the Conti's (but the Conti's used to sound like bass drummers in the trunk over expansion joints). Over all they are a good tire for me and my roads. I've had to come to the realization that I can't fix the roads around here, but thankfully the state is finally starting to.

I can't think of what could cause ~35mph vibration in a 1 speed car. Nothing comes to mind other than out of balance. (I did have discount redo the tires on my RX450h because they would vibrate the entire car at 70, turns out the balance machine was off by 1/2 oz on all 4 tires)

Registered my tires with Michelin. The DOT Codes are:
1AP AF 02AX 3024
1AP AF 02AX 3024
1AP AF 02AX
1AP AF 02AX

No idea what these codes mean and why 2 of the tires don't have the 3024.

Anybody know what these codes mean and if it's OK that they are different?

The codes show where the tires were built and when. The last four are the week they were manufactured and then the year so week 30 of 2024

Tires have an inside and an outside. The full date code ( the print showing 3024) typically should show on the part of the tire to be installed on the outside. That could be what's causing you issue (maybe) if the CC2 was designed to be installed a certain direction. My Quatrac Pro+ say inside and the sidwlewall is much more basic on the part to be installed on the inside.

On a side note this/ last year we had some week 53 of 2023 tires build

dont waste money on road force balance at this point.

It IS the tires. In my many years I have had three instances of an out of round NEW tire, then going back to blame the shop for a shit balance job.

They can determine it easily if they are looking for it.

Never had a bad Michelin, but that's why I only buy Michelins now.

I did have a brand new Tacoma with a shimmy - told them I had a bad tire.
Shop determined two rims were twisted, and replaced all rims and tires in one go.

Stuff hapens

I have driven on both--have the a/s on now, but had no issues with the cc2. I usually switch to the cc2 in Nov. I have driven in the snow with the a/s with no problem, but the cc2's are great in snow.

Thanks everyone! I have an appointment this coming Wednesday to have them check the tires to see if it is a bad tire or a balance problem. Will report back with what they find.

Just went through this with my new Pirelli Scorpion Zero AS Plus 3s. I was getting a slight vibration around 65 MPH, nothing below or above that speed. At Mark's suggestion I took it back to tire shop and had them check all the balances, turns out one was 1 oz off. After they re-balanced them it's perfectly smooth at all speeds now.

I registered my CC2s just after purchasing them (and just got the $60 gift card in the mail too) and had the exact same thing, with only two tires having those last four digits. As has been said, these are directional tires so if they are only printed on one particular side I guess we wouldn’t see two of them, unless we looked at the side facing the interior. Hard to do unless you want to crawl under or lift.

Good luck sorting this out. They might have to take it for a ride to reproduce the vibration if it doesn’t show up in the re-balancing.
