Forget about the bugs, what "feature" annoys you most?

Has that always been there? I've only owned my car since Nov. '24 and I didn't remember seeing that option. If so, thanks! I'd overlooked it.
I can’t recall when they added that to FordPass. But it was in the last few months.

The idiotic gear shift - what were they thinking? Apparently solved now in the 2025 facelift, but for everyone else since 21:

Unlike pretty much every other 'wheel'-based gear selector in any car, the Mach-E does NOT have P at the centre of the dial. Instead, the near-useless L (& especially for many of us who prefer & use 1PD).

Meaning, mostly, it is near impossible to do a three point turn without looking at and faffing with the gear selctor. Useful convention would have R at one end & D at the other & P in the middle. As it stands, we often get a huge 'clunk' in the 3 point turn rotation by inadventenly shifting into P at the far left of the selection.

Stupid & awful.
Sorry but I actually have gotten quite used to it and like it, column shifter now that's stupid and awful

I don’t know, I got used to it really fast. Park is always all the way on the left, drive is always all the way on the right. Those are the two I use the most.

Reverse is one away from drive, so it’s really easy to find.

The other settings don’t matter much.

My contribution for this thread: I am over the door buttons. I would like handles back. I don’t want to keep explaining them to people. I don’t want to deal with the door not always popping open on the first press. I just want door handles back.

They’re not horrible. But they’re not an improvement.

Bonus entry: if the wireless charging mat is useless why bother installing it?

Anti-bonus: I love the kick to open. Put it back. I don’t want to lose it if I upgrade.

The inability of the playlist when using a USB drive to show the song that is playing at the top of the list. When it changes to the next song it has a 90% probability to show the first song on the drive or randomly go to a different song on the drive. That and getting pop-up messages that you cannot interact with the system while driving, when there was no interaction, just moving from one song to another.

Mark...you are awesome! Thank you!! I like the idea of replacing the Max Defrost button. I use the Park Assist button to turn off sensors when going through the car wash.
Having a physical button for Max Defrost instead of the hatch was strange choice, for sure. Having to open the hatch/frunk from the touchscreen, which also turns off if a door opens after the car is off, is by far my biggest complaint. I'm alone in the car 90% of the time, so I haven't bothered with hatch mod. But I consider it almost every time I have a passenger who opens their door before I can pop the hatch.

A button for Max Defrost is an important safety feature in many climates, where you're driving along and suddenly the windows start fogging up quickly and you need to clear them fast just to see the road.

But yes, another button for liftgate release would be nice.

Proving that you can't please all of the people all of the time, many of the things other people are reporting as useless or annoyances are exactly what I like about the car. I don't know why some people think the car should be endlessly customizable to suit individual whims: no car has been 100% that since the beginning of cars.

I dislike the "sporty" suspension. It's too harsh and transmits too much road noise into the vehicle. But I do not complain about it because it's just one of the compromises that must be made to drive the vehicle I choose to drive. Every car I've ever owned has had compromises that I either accept or I buy a different car.

Agree on the dial order being awkward for 3-pt turns. I think we've all slammed it into P inadvertently and come to an abrupt stop when trying that.

I wouldn't want to lose "L" capability though, as Whisper+L (2PD) is my favorite drive combo that I use 100% of the time. Although far better would be to simply make high regen an independent selection in the drive settings. I want all the benefits of Whisper (easier steering and wider pedal range), plus the high regen slowing that L provides. We should simply be able to choose those independently in the drive settings for each driver profile.

I also dislike the walk away honk that can't be disabled in the settings. I have Forscan and plan on disabling it, I just haven't done it yet.

I can mess with the radio all I want when driving, but I can't search or navigate the music on my USB drive?

No way to turn off the start up and exit sounds. Can't my car just be quiet when I turn it on or off?

The ridiculously loud backup beeper. It has been cold so I haven't tried any of the work arounds to tone it down.

The following aren't bugs, and are probably more a lack of features than features. But they still frustrate me.

The lack of an energy use history and graph of usage. What is included on "This Trip" and the trip meter is pretty spartan compared to every other EV I've owned. Even the Bolt's tracking rate of kW-hr every 5 mi was better than what we have. Tesla's usage graphing is nice as you could visually see how you were under or over your calculated consumption during a trip and make adjustments to your driving.

No easy way way to start charging now to XX%, you have to edit your Home settings or use the app and monitor and stop charging. Correct me if I'm wrong and there's a way to make the car start charging immediately to a certain percentage and stop. Other EVs I've owned easily let you do this.

The non-GT models don't have a power/regen meter. I plan on enabling this too with Forscan, but it is about worthless compared to other EVs. The Bolt's meter gives energy being used and put back, as does Tesla.

There's lots of things I do really like, much much more than I dislike. So don't take this as a blanket hate fest on the car.

(Edit to correct something I wasn't aware of.)
I forget how I disabled but my walk-away lock does not honk.

Agree and although I posted previously, I'll restate, I would like to see the transmission control changed to a joystick, which would allow quick regen or one pedal mode.
