I wasn't quite there yet, but was planning on getting my bank check for the down payment today. Had already set up the insurance to switch to the mach-e on thursday and had to call them to do a ctrl-z (undo). This is unbelievable! I literally dropped off my check today!
The car is supposed to get registered for pickup on Thursday!
I am hoping my small town dealer is oblivious to the order...
OMG! I'm so sorry. But as someone who just picked mine up a couple of weeks ago, I'm not sure I'm in a better spot. At least you don't have the anxiety I do - not sure I want to take mine on a road trip just yet.FWIW, here it is. They were charging it, getting ready to prep it and then the news hit. Maybe someday I will get to drive it...

My dealer called me the moment he got the news. It was about 5 minutes after he sent me the pics of the car. He said it came up when they were prepping the car and checked the system to see if anything needed to be done to it. About that same time the dealer got the advance notice of the recall. He was very apologetic and was surpised at how calm I was. He had to call quite a few others with the news and was dreading that, but I guess was glad I wasn't being a "Karen" about it. I am cool like thatYep, I'm in the same boat, Dealer just called, told me he didn't have it in him to call me yesterday, the day he called to schedule a pickup.
Back to the waiting game, but least it's not sitting on a dock or train yard somewhere.
I'm with @pnrmurph maybe we can visit.
Yep, I think they are working the issue with the 3rd Party that creates the Junction Box, I don't think this was a problem during testing, I think the 3rd Party might use different suppliers, and they now are trying to figure out when the problem was introduced, and what "Manufacturing Lots" are affected. Is the part Company A or B's part.My dealer called me the moment he got the news. It was about 5 minutes after he sent me the pics of the car. I am cool like that. I reality, I know it is not his fault and that this issue needs to get fixed. It is a disappointment and also an inconvienence since my lease on my current car is up next month, but it is also a first-world problem.
It is interesting that news outlets are mentioning that the recall affects about half of the 100K mach-e's built on the 5/27/2020-5/24/2022 timeframe and not all of them like previously thought. I guess as this thing matures and more info comes out about it, we will have a better understanding of what we are dealing with.
Not that I'm competitive or anything like that BUT, the 3 of us left are now neck to neck in the race for delivery.
