Actually we do have the slow charger that came with the car. We never use it becuase we got the fast charger, but I think we will try it today just to see. I hadn't considered this before--thanks.
Mine is doing the same thing as yours with the mobile charger. Appt. with dealership next week.

Is your Primecom charger hard wired or plug-in? If it uses a NEMA 14-50 plug, you can use that with the Ford Mobile Charger and it won’t be much slower (if at all).

When we got the car it came with a standard charging cord that was so short we would have had to have a plug installed on the other side of the garage or always back-in. We bought a EV charger with a longer cord that will allow it to reach around to the other side and had a dedicated plug installed near the box and everything worked fine until the update. After the update the charging has given us problems. We just backed the car in and plugged the original Ford EV cord that it came with in and so far so good (it hasn't been all that long). Is it possible that the EV charger we bought is just fine but that the car has changed so that it doesn't work with it anymore? But somehow the original Ford cord works with the update? So everytime we get an update I have to buy a new $500 EV cord? I don't understand the technology but it seems like Ford should and should be telling people about this.

Anything is possible, but it could also just be a coincidence. Do you know anyone else with an EV that you can test with the Primecom charger?

The car is always going to be updated and kept within the Combined Charging System standard. It could very well be that the EVSE you have is not up to date, you would have to call the mfg of the EVSE to answer that question.

Many of us have connected EV chargers that routinely get updates over WiFi to keep them up to date and to provide any improvements and enhancements. I have had the same charger for 3 years and never had an issue with it even through the updates.

There's also always going to be the possibility that the electronics in the car and/or the EVSE are failing. This is why a few of us in your post are advocating for process of elimination. Find the problematic component and then work from there.

Just buy a dumb Grizzl-E charger and be done with it, to my knowledge they don’t need updates or haven’t needed yet. Have had zero issue with mine.

I hope using the mobile charger works! I knew someone on the forum would be able to offer ideas if you provided a bit more information. If the Ford unit works then check on updates to your unit to be sure it has the latest software.Good luck!

No. Level 2 220v charging is all the same. If one 220v charger works and one doesn't, the car is not at fault.

I am getting towards a resolution on this issue. We contacted the maker of our charger and he said that the recent update moved the car to charging at 49 Amps but that the charger has a max of 40 Amps. He advised us to change the settings on the car to 38 or 39 and he's sure it will take care of it. I'm about to do so.

Do you mean the car was updated or the charger?

MME does not have a setting for how much Amps it will pull from the charger. It will try to get as much as the charger can give it. The car and the charger communicate and negotiate how many amps the charger can provide and how much the car can get, and it gets the minimum of the two. This is the J1772 protocol.

I have had this happen and think it's worth noting that I'm setting the schedule preferences in the car, not in the charger. I don't know if that's data that has been collected from people with this issue to see if there's a common thread.

I have a very simple charger that is basically an extension cord-- there is no update possible. It goes to 40 amps. I'm trying to figure out how to set the car to not demand more than that.

There are a few topics open on this. I have the same issue with a dumb Grizzle. After the latest update. It was fine until then. I will try doing the charger to 32 amps to see if that helps. I read that the scheduled charging in car causes this issue. I haven’t tried turning it off as I like keeping battery at 90%

Use the Ford Mobile Charger. The difference between its 32 amp evse charging time and your current 40 amp charging time is rather small. There is no way to limit the car to a certain number of amps requested., The msch-e will not request more amps than your EVSE can deliver.

If you do not have a 14-50 plug for the mobile charger, take your car to a public L2 station and try it there. Your Ford dealer also has an available L2 charger if they’re close by. If it chargers at the L2 station, it’s your evse, not the car. You need to eliminate the evse as the issue before taking it back to the dealer.

I’m having issues where when I plug in on any level 2 charger the charging stops after 45 minutes to an hour.

when charging stops I have continuous flashing amber lights on the charge port of the car
